So part of the reason for the fan outrage of recent weeks is that many fans feel they are guaranteed what ever is shown or alluded to. So what if Hasbro started showing us less as a result?

They shouldn't show us anything at all. Each release should be a surprise. Lol. Imagine if that happened??

I think, for both our sanity and theirs, it would be a good idea to give it up. These reveals tease and just make for trouble. They either never come, or months too late, or we bitch about them. Not worth it.

    Not really, no.

Also, it's not really possible to not show us. They have to show retailers - and retailers leak info to us.

    ok then new strategy...
Just shorten the time frame maybe?
They should only show Fans product that has been ordered by retailers??
Not show till it reaches the packaging stage?

I do think that it would be better for us to be left out of the process until much later, but I believe that's not really the goal.

I think part of it is something of a kabuki theatre.. there are retailer representatives in attendance at these panels gauging the reactions of the fans to this stuff. Our reactions in part determine how interested they may be in a product. If Hasbro wants a retailer to bite on something that a major retailer isn't so sure about, maybe they show us prototypes hoping we'll go nuts for it and get the toy/line picked up.

It's sort of like at a film festival. A hopeful auteur brings their movie to a festival and yeah, it's to show people the movie, but mostly it's because there will be distributors in the audience.

They CLEARLY state that at every BotCon I've been to. The wording may be different, but it's something to the effect of "We are working on this right now, it's in its early stages, and we will try our hardest to release this to you guys."

I really enjoy seeing the early reveals and what Hasbro might have planned for release. However, it'd be hard for me to say it wouldn't be somewhat relieving not knowing what is coming out. I'd simply go to the store and see what's there. We live in a technologically fast paced world today though and there's no way Hasbro could keep everything from us. We'd find out.

I agree that they should only show us the products that have already been ordered by retailers, the products that are ready to hit retail. Makes it less disappointing to us when they show us all of these toys they plan on coming out only for them to turn around and say that they've been canceled.

Every slide should just be a picture of the toy next to the boxes are they are being unloaded at the local walmart.

As someone who suggested this in previous threads, I wholeheartedly agree. They should really hold back the previews until the toys are much further through the process. It would save us all a lot of stress.

    :lol

    can picture it now:

Hasbro salesman: Wanna buy some toys?
Retailer: Yeah, sure what have you got?
Hasbro salesman: Not allowed to say... you want some?
    *uncomfortable silence*

    priceless.

Seeing as how all of the stuff was released overseas. It would not have helped this situation.
