Those for 2013 don't follow a theme or a story. Nor do have any relation to other toys. They are completely random even if there are some good choices.

I feel that the set would be better if there were some purpose to the toys.

I would want them to fill in the gaps to existing teams or duos/rivals. Seemingly completely random when taken as a set but intended to be companions to existing toys, retail and Botcon, that may not be expected otherwise - say RiD Bludgeon to accompany RiD Scourge to complete the Destructicon duo. Teams of two or three may also happen that don't fill in an existing gap (i.e. the two Battlechargers from 2011) with the other toys in the set being completely unrelated.

If you're happy with how the 2013 set's choices, thats the bottom option.

I think the lack of a theme is a good thing. It lets people get a little of everything in a short time. Otherwise, you're stuck with the theme for the year. Botcon's their place for a theme now.

I voted random choices. That way they have a variety and there's something for everyone. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a theme though.

Second one - a previous Botcon theme.

I voted for totally random. I'm never going to see a Cloudburst otherwise.

Would you want a Human head?

Cloudburst could be done in an entirely Pretender, Masterforce or Invasion themed set (assuming you don't mind Phoenix taking his place). Or if they do Landmine or Waverider in a future Botcon set, Cloudburst and the other could be chosen to complete that trio.

To fit him into one of the other options on the poll.

I want storyline themed characters. If they're not, then what's the point of the boxset.

I thought the filling gaps was what the subcription service is for, and I love it, because at least with that randomness I can pick and choose which ones I don't want.

This isn't the boxset, though. We're talking about the club exclusive toys (ie the upcoming series of Breakdown, Circuit, Ultra Mammoth, RiD Scourge), not the Botcon items.

I like the randomness of this year's exclusives. As others have said, themes should be used for the Botcon exclusives. I like being able to be selective about what exclusives I buy. It's bad enough I sometimes splurge on Botcon figures to complete a theme. I don't need to overspend on any other set of exclusives in the same year.

It should be random choices. It'll allow for more characters from other universes to get toys, thus making a variety and giving everyone a little of what they want.

We have a themed set in Botcon with some random stuff in souvenir sets (e.g.: Thundercracker and Galvatron being not-Animated at 2010). I want the Club exclusives theme-less. And, to me, the subscription services only make sense giving to us figures from all continuities and generations. If all the figures follow the same theme, a lot of people will give up. The mixed set makes the subscribers base bigger.

I'd settle for them not doing the toys that should be offered through regular retail. Looking at you RID Scourge...

I voted no , I prefer the random selection. The only issue i would have is if they use a mold that is known to be bad. for example Energon Ironhide.

You would rather not have the toy at all than to have it as a club exclusive? If the club is doing it, it means Hasbro has no plans. Hasbro could still do one with Decepticon symbols and call it Nemesis Prime, and it won't take anything away from the club one.

With the exception of his head, I think Energon Ironhide is a cool toy...
