i just read off the frontpage that Fans Project will develop a Henkei version of the Powered Commander armor. but do you think they should keep this Armor in limited supplies? i don't want to be greedy but i like the fact that its limited edition.

NO! If people want to buy it, and they can make money off of it they should make it end of story!

I hate the idea of exclusives it only helps people who have lots of money, and never helps the fan! What good is something that's meant to be enjoyed by fans when only a handful of them can get there hands on them? Exclusivity only hurts the fans, and helps scalpers. Its bad news.

No. They're a company in business to make money. If you want cool stuff like this to keep appearing, the company needs to make a damn profit off it. And really, what's the big deal about owning an exclusive? I enjoy owning Henkei Thundercracker because he's a Classics Thundercracker, not so I can sit and cackle over the thought of all the people who don't own one.

no as it makes them hard to get initially due to price then it send the values in the secondary market through the roof ! making it extremely difficult for collectors of limited means, such as myself to get one

Never a fan of exclusives and limited editions. I always wished the knockoff companies would get hold of these and make them for the people. But that never happens.

Unfortunately it's just the economics of these things. They can't really afford to mass-produce them because as much as we all want them, the overall demand is limited.

Definitely not. I don't own the original magnus armor (I was going through some rough patches and couldn't afford it) Now its way out of my price range. Limiting ithe commander armor will only drive the price to extremes

    NO!
There is no reason to limit the production of such a wonderful toy just to satisfy the elitist leanings of some of those who already own it. Anyone who wants it and can afford it should have a chance to buy one, full stop. On a related note, I am fully in support of mass-retail releases of all convention exclusives past, present and future. Toys should not be kept from people just because they couldn't afford to go to a convention.

I think all exclusives should be banned until the fandom shows they're adult enough to deal with them.

So until the sun implodes, really.

Why don't you just say, "look what I have and you don't!"

Let people have it, enough crap in the other thread, give it a rest

I love how this entire thread has been a huge, resounding "NO." I doubt this is what kaotic thought would happen.

That's what bugs me: the sense that so many people buy exclusives not to have the toy, but to lord it over "lesser" fans.

To be honest, from the way it was put across it seemed like the powered commander colour aromour was going to be an TFcon exclusive (and from some of the things I've read they thought so to) in which case that colour variation should have been limited to a specific run.

... Doesn't FP already limit the production runs of the armor sets?

No, because on their site it says "For fans, by fans". Why limit it to only "some fans"?

Actually we are staying out of ANOTHER thread on the subject, because smack talking inflamitory posts like yours calling people "elitists" makes me want to start hammerfisting my dog in the face. And caused 1000 posts of anger in another thread.

No. A ton of other people owning the same TOY I do doesn't make me enjoy what I own wny less. I buy TOYS because I like them, not because they have the words EXCLUSIVE or LIMITED EDITION attached to them. And it won't decrease the size of my peen one bit if other people own the same TOYS too.

If a company is willing to mass-produce such add-ons, I'm all for it.
