Shoji Kawamori designed Diaclone Convoy?

    I know he was responsible for the G1 Seekers as well as THS-2 Prime and MP-3 Starscream. But what about his earlier stuff back in the early 80's?

    Is this true?

    That's the way I've always understood it - he allegedly designed the Diaclone versions of Optimus Prime, Bluestreak, and Prowl.

    Half a dozen designers worked on Diaclone Battle Convoy. Kawamori was just one of them. He wasn't THE designer of the toy.

    Do we have a reliable source for this information? I'm not saying I doubt it - but it'd be nice to have more than just conflicting reports based on dodgy translations. Some places credit only him, others don't credit him at all.

    The book, and various interviews say he was on the design team.
    But the patent for convoy lists a different designer, so he isnt the one who did the final version.
