True colors. Read my fanfic for my thoughts on Shockwave and his multi-changing abilities...

I'm grey too. I like the light green that goes with his grey, purple is not original, besides Lugnut is already one eyed and purple.

I dunno, I think the purple is too deep for him. If they used a lighter purple, then maybe. Personally, I think the grey goes much nicer to acompany all of that black that he's sporting. The green also is nice.

Where is the "both" option? I think Shockwave looks great either way.

I'm guessing the people that say gray don't own the Animated purple Shockwave. And are trying to talk themselves into liking gray more.

I didn't think I'd like purple as much, but after I bought the toy, the color is really striking, and just looks a whole lot better.

Voted Grey to give the minority some love.

Grey, and I own both figures. The purple is too dark to provide a good contrast with the black areas and, as a result, the "G1" themed repaint is too dark.

I own gray Shocky, but have played with purple Shocky. And I like gray better. Gray makes the Longarm Prime disguise make more sense.

True, but when he is purple he doesn't use the Longarm disguise.

I don't particularly like one more than the other. I'm more fond of the fact he can change than I am fond of one color over another. But, I like that he is purple now because all of the cons have purple in them somewhere. I like to think that the more purple a con is colored the more devoted they are to the decepticon cause. It's like wearing your favorite sports team's colors.

I just bought Purplewave, iI was wondering if its normal his head (in Shockwave mode) feel loose/fragile? Its move up and down so easily. Unless I was supposed to let it on the bottom?

And I plan on buying Gray Shockwave anyway, Gray Shockwave will stay in Longarm Prime mode while Purple stay Shockwave.

I got both and the purple head is more "gimpy" than the grey one.

For as much as I consider myself the ultimate Shockwave fan, I can't say that I was too giddy with him being able to just change his color 'back to' purple in the latest episode. I would have preferred that he was either purple from day one or just remained with his grey & blue color scheme throughout. He already has his signature one eye, Corey Burton's voice and the ability to disguise himself as an entirely different bot with an entirely different alt mode - I didn't necessarily need him eventually turn purple as well for the sake of justifying the toy. I do think the purple colored toy is great if for nothing else than being a nice addition for Shockwave collectors (ie: me) - I just didn't feel it was necesary to work that into the show after establishing him as being grey & blue.
