If Shock was an '85 Decep, what was he doing in the very beginning of MtMtE?
Toylines AND Cartoons take a long amount of prep time to create. They certainly knew at least vaguely what toys would be out in 85 when the cartoon was being created. Remember Grapple (under a preliminary name) and the Dinobots, Skyfire and the Constructicons and Insecticons were all 85 toys that also appeared in S1.
And we know that Omega Supreme and the Combiners (among other 85 guys) didn't appear in TF:TM because work on that was started so early they weren't finalized characters yet.
-ZacWilliam, you generally gotta figure at least a year and more often 2 years between planing and when things hit stores or the airwaves.
Yes, was Grapple "Hauler" that hauled up Hound?
Welcome to, like, 1994.
Shockwave (G1) - Transformers Wiki
Hauler - Transformers Wiki
Hauler- Decep turn Auto... that's something you don't hear about every day!
When was Hauler ever a Decepticon?
When he was a Constructicon?
Meh, wonder if parents were asking store employees where "Shockwave" was back in 1984.
But the Constructions were turned into Decepticons by Megatron... and Hauler was not among them when it happened... so he was never a Decepticon... Chronology, see!
Chronology, my leakin' lubicant exhaust transformed to arse... That means Skyfire was the first Transformer on Earth and Starscream was already an Earthen jet back on Cybertron before they launched!
My brain hurts.
Skyfire the first Transformer on Earth - as of Fire in the Sky, yes. No doubt about that.
Starscream being an F-15 millions of years ago - that's an artistic error.
There's no official fiction where Hauler was a Decepticon. Simple as that.
1 and 1 make 2.
You see, it's extremely simple.
The evil Constructicons were built by Megatron in 1985. As thanks, they travelled back in time to build Megatron. Megatron turned them evil in return.
Hauler was just a random Constructicon that Megatro didn't build, but hung around the other constructicons. He didn't get turned evil, but he did help build Megatron.
Sums it up pretty well.
Not sure I got that.
but the Constructicons built Megatron, who brainwashed the Constructicon, and Megatron built the Constructicons
In "Heavy Metal War", Megatron implies that the Decepticons built the Constructicons only recently, on Earth.
In "The Secret of Omega Supreme", the Constructicons were originally Autobots who were turned into Decepticons by Megatron back on Cybertron over four million years ago.
In "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4", Rodimus has a vision inside the Matrix that lets him witness the creation of Megatron, at the hand of the Constructicons. All... eight of them.
Those three accounts all contradict each other at first sight. Fans have since tried to reconcile them ("Megatron didn't LITERALLY mean they BUILT them, he just meant 'they built new bodies for them'"), but just taken at face value, it's a triangular contradiction.
trying to figure out logic to the G1 cartoon is like trying to find a corner in a round room.
Autobots with the Decepticon insignia ,another animation error..and the've already earth modes.
Then, about Crystal city origin,is debated that Constructicons were a third class, different from the military Dec and workers Autob.
They were engineers ,in fact built cities and robots.
Everything is contradictory...it can be solved in this way:in G1 toon every writer created his own universe.
Not just implied; in "Desertion of the Dinobots" it's an important plot point that they were made on Earth.
Yeah, but in the Solar Power Tower episode, Scrapper tells Grapple the Constructicons admired his buildings back on Cybertron.
Separate names with a comma.
