    Why a red eye?

A few very minor critiques are that the chest appears a bit too 'long' forward, and the collar ridges should maybe be a little bit taller.
I know this is how the toy is, but with 3D modeling, enhancing the original design could be easily accomplished. Especially with your talent.

    It isn't.
The chest is about the right size for the toy; if anything it's actually a little shorter. I prefer it like that. And the collar ridges are shorter because he's going to be animated and I wanted him to have a decent range of vision (makes it more fun to set up camera work that way too, since I'm not limited to just front-on shots).
    A couple more shots:

Loving the worn textures - looks even better here than it did on the twins, and the glassy eye-lens with the sort of burnt amber 'pupil' is absolutely beautiful. :thumb

Shockwave is looking brilliant. :)  I really like the shader for the lens, absolutely awesome, considering its one of his key design elements. :thumb

Heh. It's not a shader. It's nothing more than an image map (a simple radial gradient used as luminosity) and some reflection. ;)
I've done a more detailed version of the eye as well:

I'm trying to decide which one to go with.

Not too sure about the look of that 'eye lid', but he looks marvelous nonetheless.

Heh, it's not an "eyelid"; as it goes; it's a reflection on the glass over the eye.

This is very awesome, Draven. You have serious skills in this area that cannot be ignored. The images that you've made here are nothing short of testimonial as to how awesome a Masterpiece Shockwave really would/could be.

Pete this is awesome man, i can't help to think that the eye would look better if you modeled in an actual orb beneath the glass and gave it some intense luminosity instead of just the image map, you've done much more detail, might as well keep going. It would create awesome reflections!

    Shockwave looks sleepy,,,

    Sleepy or bored.

I'm gonna go with bored, Megatron probably sent him on a mission with Rumble and Blot.

    Excellent work as usual Draven

Zowie! I'm getting a really bad-ass HAL 9000 vibe off that eye-lens. :lol
Fantastic work as always. Have you rendered his alt mode?
