SPOILER ALERT : This article contains plot elements of the 3rd Transformers Live Action Movie.

Shia LaBeouf told The Associated Press that Transformers 3 "brings the heart back to the franchise." He starts working on the third installment on Tuesday.

The new script restores a human element that got lost in the second movie, LaBeouf said. "When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did," LaBeouf said at the Cannes Film Festival. "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone."

Michael Bay returns for the third time as director of the science-fiction franchise, which centers on dueling races of giant robots that bring their war to Earth. The next movie will have what the last one lacked - a sense of human consequences, LaBeouf said.

On the second movie, "we got lost. We tried to get bigger. It's what happens to sequels. It's like, how do you top the first one? You've got to go bigger," LaBeouf said. "Mike went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie. ... You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn't matter. Then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

With "Transformers 3," the toll of the robot war will be grave for our planet, LaBeouf said.

"There's going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they're targeting humans," LaBeouf said. "It's going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed."

Transformers 3 is coming to theaters on July 1, 2011.

Well, this one does have the advantage of being written before filming starts.

I hate to sound like one of "those guys," but there wasn't really that much of "just a bunch of robots fighting each other" either.

I hope Shia and co. are on the money on their third go-around and wish them the best.

I agree 100%, they aldready deformed Spike into Sam "the whiner" Whitwicky. Just Give us robots with personalities, that we can actualy care about.

Robots can have relationships and interactions, too. In fact, if they couldn't, they wouldn't be trying to kill each other.

"You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn't matter. Then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

    Welcome to Transformers, Shia.

We need more TF-to-TF relationships before we need more focus on the human aspects. Between "Awwww, Jazz...." and not a peep over Optimus in ROTF, how about we bring in a little camaraderie amongst the robots first?

yeah, ROTF had more than enough about Sam and Mikaela and their relationship. But we shouldn't necessarily assume he was talking about just human relationships.

Let me state the obvious Michael Bay is a moron, who doesnt know how to make a movie work. He's at the heart of whats wrong with the movies.

hugging ducks 3 movies and no worthy transformer interactions besides them just cracking their mottos. Megan better have a topless scene to go along with the baysplosions...

edit: I thought we had something that took out curse words.

I think TF3 will be a lot better than RotF. I enjoyed RotF anyway, so if this one's even better then I'll be all the happier.

ROTF was just all over the place.
A bunch of really good unfinished ideas.

Here's hoping TF3 does more with less.
