I really just don't like him. He comes off as a brash, cocky, conceded and immature little prick. He's not a good actor but yet he keeps comparing himself to Dustin Hoffman. :rolleyes2

If you don't like him, there's always the giant robots and Megan Fox beside him to concentrate on.

Coming to think of it, I don't like him that much. I'll be concentrating on Megan Fox. Oh, and the giant robots too.

It sounds like Hollywood went all the way up to his head, a little bit too much.
Oh yeah, I don't like him.

I read the whole article, and he says that he is actually acting during interviews to avoid giving too much of himself away (he also says that the "character" he pretends to be in the public light is very close to how he is in real life though).

    Confusing.

For as much as you guys rag on the kid (who is older than some of you!), the interview was a pretty good reprenstation. He's more real of an actor than anything you see on Letterman or the Tonight Show. I give him props for that, and wish him luck.

I dunno, I somehow feel like through his interviews I've gotten more insight into what its like to act an be an actor than any "true hollywood story" or talk show interview. He seems pretty grounded if you ask me, ambitious, but knowing his place at the same time.

"For Guide, Dito [Montiel, Guide's writer-director] didn't want me for the movie. He thought I was this Disney kid, and he wouldn't let me audition. So when I got an audition, I fucked his office up, I put a hole through the wall, I went as crazy as I could. Violently angry, so that I wasn't that image he had of me."

Man I wonder if thats true

I'm just curious for those of you who call him out on his language. In about 2700 words, he drops 3 f-bombs, 3 'hard-asses' (all in reference to Michael Bay), and 4 'shits.'

Is that really much more than the average person curses? I'm not being sarcastic--it's just that in the military or at a college, which is most of my experience, he'd probably come off as fairly clean-mouthed.

Has anyone else here been the star Transformers? No. So put up, or shut up.

Shia's a pretty good actor, and it was a good interview.

I think he comes off as very intelligent and enthusiastic.
I also think comming off a Bay film is going to give you a bit of a potty mouth.
When a 20 foot scorpion tries to explode your head with his razor tail.... what else can you say but: F*** or Sh***?

I suspect that those who so easily blow him off, havent actually watched any of his non-disney work.

non-disney work being.......holes or dumb and dumberer?

and why are people getting defensive of celebrity criticism?

tom cruise has done way way more in his life than i could hope to do in 3 but............

    tom cruise, still = NUTJOB

he seems like a really nice kid, and he acts better than most people his age. But he is still a kid, and seems to try a little too hard to break that stereotype in the wrong ways. i.e. punching a wall to prove he's grown up

That's actually less than what you hear in the average Hollywood interview.

And Tom Cruise = NUTJOB. The second he fired his agent and hired his sister instead, his true self shined through (rememeber those interviews and Oprah appearance?). And look up Scientology.

And what stereotype is Shia trying to break? I didn't even know he was a 'Disney kid' until you pointed it out. Was he part of the Mouseketeer like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears? Because that's the only way I know of that gets ya the label of former-'Disney kid.'
