    Found this bit of news over on TMZ. Apparently, he also injured his hand as well and will need surgery. Not to mention, he hit another car and injured that driver, too. Such a shame. Here are the links:

    I actually liked him when he was first starting out, and thought he'd be a perfect choice for TF, but the kid is trying too hard to be a Hollywood badass and just looks like a douche. It's really hard to respect the kid after so many arrests and his sailor-mouth interviews...and shit :p .

    Man, what an idiot. No excuse for something like that. I, too was happy when they cast him for teh first movie, but now he's just starting to be an ass.

    So not cool. Looks like he has an actual alcohol problem. Hopefully his passenger and the driver of the other car didn't get hurt too bad. As far as he is concerned, he deserves whatever he gets.

    Here's the latest update from TMZ. Looks like he won't be charged with felony DUI. However, he's currently in surgery for his injured hand. He is still under suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.

    Yeah, he's definitely coming off like a douchebag at the moment, but hey... anybody still remember when Johnny Depp was in this phase? Maybe Shia's looking for people to make that connection?

    Of course, reportedly it took River Phoenix dying to slap Depp in the face and motivate him to moderate his ways. Shia's just lucky he didn't kill someone. Now THAT would have delayed production!
