So, I'm thinking about the SDCC Classics Universe Nemesis Prime, and how Hasbro botched up his windshield colors. And looking at Optimus and Magnus, they're not much of help.

However, I took a look at some Shattered Glass Optimus pics and could see that they seemed to be red, but I wasn't sure, so I've come to you, TFWers. Could anyone tell me if SG Prime has a red windshield, so that I can start saving massive amounts of money to buy one to make a proper Nemesis Prime?

And yes... I'm this crazy to botch an exclusive.

    Nope; they're smoke coloured.

    Nope. From our galleries:

There was a prototype that was rumored to be an exclusive for Winter Wonderfest in Japan last year, but since the show was canceled it was never produced. I believe ultraconvoy has one.

Probably for the better though. Red and purple might clash a bit. Yellow might have looked good though.

It does actually look vaguely yellow in person.

Probably intentional, given the amounts of yellow highlights on other parts of the figure, and that yellow is a complementary color to purple.

It definitely works IMO; I wasn't too keen on the colour scheme when I first saw it, but it's grown on me a hell of a lot since I got the set.

Actually there is a better way. This was my original idea. Use Crystal Convoy. You need to paint over the doors, but the door is red clear plastic. the main window, im not sure yet as mine is not here yet, has some tint but that can be removed. I think the main window is clear red too but I have yet to confirm it.

Apparently, just painting over the windows with clear red paint works.

NO. go to a model shop. Tamiya and other reputable brands have clear paint. It is for model cars and other such things, to make turn signals red. most of the time they are not casted in clear colors. but just clear.

But NO this will NOT work. you guys need to think about what will happen when you cover clear blue with clear red. You get Clear purple. and no matter how much clear red you put on, it will still be clear purple.

The problem is you have two transparent colors overlapping each other. they blend and mix with light. if you had a solid color that can stand on its own then that is fine but then you would have solid windows.

Think of it this way. Take a blue piece of paper and run it thru your printer. Print out RED TEXT. What happens? PURPLE TEXT.

best is to get crystal convoy.

Repainting one exclusive into another (unreleased) exclusive.
And what a good waste of a great Crystal Convoy that will be. :D

    Haha, j/k! :p

    Ebay:
It's the dark blue/gray on the legs that sells the toy for me. I ended up liking it alot more than I thought I would (although Bumblebee/Goldbug is the winner of the set for me).

The yellow is an overspray to simulate 'dirty windscreen' action :)

You'd think that, but oddly enough, it seems to work. We've had plenty of galleries in Radicons showing this fact.

I'll second that. The blue in the blue windows is so thin that a heavy application of "Clear Red" tamiya will completely overpower it, giving a quite adequate implication of red windows.

Plus, if the paint is applied to the INSIDE of the windows, the exterior appearance is not altered at all.

So it looks like I'll have to get Tamiya clear red paint...

How the heck do they make that type of paint anyways?

And would the paint work on the light piping?
