They're being sold at Botcon for 99 dollars in the troop building 3pack. Aftermarket prices vary. I bought a set yesterday for 188 bucks shipped.
Cost = plane ticket, horrible line ups, etc. That's a load crap from a baby's diaper with gastro. What I would love to see are ebay sales with close to cost final sale. Now that would be awesome.
I wouldn't buy them at all. That's just me though. I have great interest in collecting more junkions but at that price i might as well pay for everyone's ticket to botcon.
Thing is, I don't think the demand will drop. It's an SG figure, and as much as fans bitch and moan about the whole SG universe and how Funpub has been milking it way too much, it's a really popular line. I honestly can't think of one SG figure that DIDN'T appreciate in value.
It won't even take that long. Secondary prices will drop as soon as more and more people start listing these a few days after Botcon. It's the same trend every year. Prices will go back up once the figures start becoming scarce on eBay but that could take awhile since FP makes more figures then they did in previous years. The reason the previous SG figures go for so high is because FP didn't make nearly as many sets and those are all core characters, so most people keep them.
I nabbed the 3 pack off ebay for $150, I'm pretty happy with that price, and even if it comes down won't be kicking myself.
Not too bad honestly. I'll wait till they stabilize a bit and hope for that price myself but I probably won't get it.
I wasn't planning to buy these guys anyway (I only want Junkions that fit in with the G1 style, aka rusty colored), though I was still figuring they'd look nice in the Insecticon colors. Well, they do look nice, but it's disappointing that they all have the same deco, the only difference is their heads.
plus you got to keep in mind that each SG junkion has a unique head on it...the only way to duplicate that retail wise is to get the ehobby junkion...and that dude by himself commands damned near $100 or more for ONE FIGURE...
