So after seeing the Shattered Glass Goldbug, I figured I could do a better job with the Excellion mold.

I used the two tone Alt mode as the base for my idea.
I decided to use Krylon Satin Black, Krylon Nickle Shimmer, Testors Sliver, Metal Flake Red & Dark Red.

I'm really proud of the way it turned out. I think I'm now a "rookie" :lol

Nice work. Great color scheme, much better than Shattered Glass. Some of the chest details look a little "hand painted" but still very good.

the ONLY thing I don't like about this guy is that you can't see his face as not only is it black, but it blends right in with the black helmet. but that's it, I like it a lot.

    Thanks once again guys.

Yeah, The testors dark red was really thick and held brush strokes really well,
I never thought to thin it out till I was done using it.

I can understand that POV, the head was the last thing I did. Spent the whole bash trying to figure out what details to put on it.
His head is a good size but the face area is SO small, I was afraid to paint it.

Ultimately, every bash I do is practice for Nemesis Divebomb.
What I see in my head for him is what I want done. I need all the practice I can get.

I like that a lot. I disagree about the head I like it. Good color scheme on this guy. I can see where the details could be cleaned up a bit but it's nothing big. A lot of Hasbro factory paint comes out worse than this. Good job NP

Any words of advice for doing better/cleaning up details. My hand is still really shaky sometimes. Detailing is the thing I need to work on the most.

I don't have a lot to offer in terms of advice on this subject. I have the same problem with shaky hands myself, I just tend to follow already established lines, use tooth pics to paint tight areas and keep the little details to a minimum. You can also try to wipe off areas pretty quick when you over paint, but that gets messy sometimes. Maybe try painting some black over were the details colors spilled over. I wish I had better hands, heck I wish I had more steady hands myself.

Don't get me wrong about the crits, this custom still looks amazing!

Looks good, but I agree with Redline about the face.
