Just curious. Do more people like or dislike the Shattered Glass idea?

This is a straight forward yes or no question hence only two poll options.

I like the idea.
I like the Decepticons more than the autobots personally. the issue though is the SG was a very large success and to this day the toys continue to draw big numbers on resale. It was a safe bet for TFCC to revisit one of thier two biggest sets, the issue was only AFTER it was announced did a large group of people start complaining about it. and then they seemed to be even more pissed when TFCC didn't scrap all thier finished toys because they were complaining. and then since these were complete that is what TFCC had to show for several months...and people complained more than TFCC didn't abandon 6 months of planning because people suddenly said they didn't like it AFTER the decision has been made.

So I do like SG! but only now after the fact does TFCC have indications that it has run it's course, so now you may see it backed off form.

 

No for the concept, aesthetic, etc.

Yes for the lack of interest I have in it and the subsequent money & headaches saved of trying to get the exclusive figures via Botcon and/or TFCC.

 

I like it but its getting wore out too soon.

It's one of the least interesting corners of the TF universe for me. That said, I don't actively hate it nor would I ever complain about it. Some decos look cool, some don't. Mostly it's just something I don't pay any attention to.

 

For a few leaders or strong characters, yes. Let'em go bipolar.

No on random guys like Treadshot.

I like shattered glass. I always liked alternate universe stories and wanted this to happen for a while but never thought we'd get toys. I do think that some of the characterizations are week though like tracks and some of the re-purposing sucks (like road rage into tracks and overdrive GTS into Elita-1). I do like Soundwave and the hippie Quintessons. I'll gladly buy new SG toys when they get released and wouldn't mind it if one of the 6 subscription figures each year was SG.

The big problem with it though is that funpub seems to be too in love with their own fiction and it isn't very good.

Dislike. It was cool at first but now it's a tired concept and just seems like a lazy way to get redecos out of molds.

 

It's little more than a novelty, and should have died long ago.

 

I used to love it. Now I hate it.

 

I like the idea of alternate universes where good guys are bad guys, etc.

But something rubs me the wrong way when it comes to the whole Shattered Glass thing. I think it's mainly because it seems like EVERY Autobot is bad and EVERY Decepticon is good. It's just... too clear cut. Like they should have put more effort into it, or something.

 

It just seems like a weak excuse for weak figures IMO. Not a fan at all.

 

It was a cool idea for a one-off convention box set but now it's outworn its welcome and has become boring as hell.
