Is there anyway to adjust which material gets applied to the model you make?

I see TFs weapons and such going for $5 or so. But when I make weapons and accessories that are roughly the same size, I end up in the hundreds for some reason. When I go to check on my model once it's been approved, I always have a limited choice of materials to pick from and it's always the expensive kind.

    Need help.

I don't design on shapeways, but it might have something to do with how you're designing the items. If they're designed as solid (rather than having internal support axis's/hollow areas) it would increase the cost of the shapeways printing.

I'd suggest asking around the Shapeways forums, or taking the question directly to Fakebuster, or some of the other designers who hang their hat around TFW.
