Hey guys, I know this is a bit commonplace now, but I have to admit that it's still a bit surreal to me: we can get our own custom parts 3-D printed! Now, we've still got to be objective here: we're still in the infancy of this. However, as many of you guys can already testify, the parts are really good right now and it's a good resource for Transfomers fans and customizers alike.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know that I've stickied the list of Shapeways stores in this forum. If you have a store yourself or have one you'd recommend, feel free to add it to the stickied thread (re: not this one). I'm moving much of the general discussion to this thread. So if you have any comments, questions, concerns, etc., post those in this thread here.

I hope this all helps you guys :)

After reviewing Calloways page, I have two questions:

    1. What mold is that Banzaitron Kit intended to modify?

    2. Why are some items not for sale?

Does any of the cost go to the designers themselves, or does it all go to the site? I hope the designers get something for all their hard work...

If so, it would be helpful to link those threads here as well - sometimes the Shapeways pages make it difficult to figure out what certain parts are supposed to be, what they go to, or what they look like. I like the idea of having every TF-related Shapeways link in one spot - much easier to browse for parts and ideas.

    Ooo...Never caught this until now.
    Many thanks for doing this!

I think most of the designers have their own threads consolidating all their work. I know I do.

To put links to all the individual item threads here might be helpful, but it might end up too huge.

That's what I was talking about :D  - just link back to the designer's repository, not a link for every item here - I know some designers have taken the trouble to link all of their items in the first post of their threads, just a link from here to there would help, since board searching is not always reliable.

Thanks for the post, something like this is definitely needed. Gonna keep an eye out.

There should be one for folks who have casting threads or casted head/hands/add-on threads too. Those are always in demand. Heck, I'm waiting for someone to create some good heads in Shapeways or something. Like G1 Bee in different sizes (like Alt sized) or combiner noggins. SW seems to be a good option to get perfect looks without trying to sculpt them by hand (though some folks on here are very talented with that too).

The designers get to "pay" them selves above and beyond the base price as much as they like, so it's a very fair system!

GREAT thread idea, though I wonder if it should be in creative market instead of here, it's a MUST have must-sticky resource for sure!!!

I just started using 3D design but I added my new Hunter Artworks Shapeways to the list. I have only finished a few models, but I think I am off to a good start.

Would be really cool to see one of our awesome shapeways guys make a set of abs that can be added to ROTF Leader Prime to make a DOTM Prime. I'd love to allclad a set for my buster prime.

thought i'd ask here instead of starting a new thread.

How can you pay on shapeways? can you pay with paypal? etc. asking cause i dont wanna put a card on file or join and then not wanna buy anything because they dont accept a payment method im comfortable using. Thanks in advance
