I got one of the Radio Shack (or other store) gray Shockwave toys that sold during the same time as that year's Transformers line. Ran on Ebay for about $30 or so, and the electronics still worked. Nice deal. Well, I've had it for a couple of years, and I finally decided to paint him up like Shockwave. The purple is lighter than the original, but I think it's a nice shade. But I'm facing a dilemma. I bought the spray paint I'm using about a year ago. I'm running low, and I can't find any more of it. It was a Krylon spray paint, called "Home Decor." The shade was Plumb Royale Satin. I thought I found a comperable shade of Krylon Int/Ext Plumb, but it's a half-shade darker. Plus it's gloss. And this other stuff really did have a nice glove-like fit over the surfaces I've painted with it. Good news is, I'm thinking I have JUST enough of the old stuff to pull this off. The front half of the body and other leg are done, and I'm painting the backhalf of the body and speaker box as we speak. I should have just enough for the other side of the speaker box and any other little corners that don't get sprayed. I hope. Anyway, I should have new pics soon.
