Are Battle Beasts really part of the TFs universe?
Yes, they even come boxd with autobot and decpticon paper work..well the japanese ones do anyway
Episode 5 of the Japanese Headmasters Series. Takes place on Planet Beast and involves the Battle Beasts known as Beastformers in Japan. They also made an appearance in Dreamwave TF Summer Special where Megatron captured the Predacons and created Predaking.
I thought there was an American G1 episode with them, too. Could be wrong.
You are. Particularly as Hasbro distanced BBs from the connection Beastformers and TFs had in Japan.
There's also the old and false belief that Beastformers had Cybertron and Destron rubsigns. They didn't, just the same elements they had as Battle Beasts in the US.
He could just be confusing battle beasts with tonka's rock lords movie.
In addition to their lone appearance on a HM episode some Battle Beasts (or Beastformers in Japan) had Decepticon and Autobot symbols associated with them on their packaging and trading card that came with each figure. Below is a scan of a couple cards I have:
and here's a yahoojapan link with some packaging shots, http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u22470411
While all Beastformers had the single-pack box and a trading card, again, not all had a Transformers faction symbol.
How did I know you were going to post in here
ahaha well have you started buying yet? If not I got 4 spare
LOL going to hold off until this BotCon fiasco is over, need to replenish the wallet
well that helped.
i never even saw a single battle beast as a kid, so i thought they were made up or those things you get at the entrance of TRU when you put a quarter into the dispenser.
I would love to see these released again
i too love battle beasts....ive got just over half of the collection so far, and plan on finishing it later...
In Japan there were some available in those vending machinestoo. They are all white/cream without any paint (kinda lame, IMO). Each is worth $150 to about $$250. It's a bit insane.
