The Oscars will be hosted by Peter Griffin this year!
What's that wanking sound I hear?
Now a four hour-long show, which already feels like an 8 hour-long show, will feel like a 16 day-long show because he's so not funny.
"But he does Family guy!"
Everyone loves Family Guy!
So much for the Oscars being good.
He'll probably use Family Guy voices, and I freaking hate Family Guy.
i hate the existance of family guy, american dad and the cleveland show.
Like we need another avenue to make that hack feel legitimate...
Will his already over-inflated ego fit inside the Eastman?
Like I need another reason beyond "I don't care about the Oscars all that much" to not watch this.
Being honest, Seth is quite a talented guy as a voice-actor, at the very least.

Advice the Oscars sadly disregarded.
Yes, internet people, get bent out of shape about THIS. Because the most elitist self congratulating 'ceremony' of millionaire famous people giving each awards is otherwise always soooo good, highbrow and entertaining... but now it'll suck because Seth McFarlane is hosting it. Rrrright.
The Oscars have consistently seen a smaller TV audience for at least the past 10 years, and right along with that, EVERY host gets nailed with the typical knee-jerk "well, there goes the Oscars this year" reaction once they're announced. Overly predictable par for the course.

I actually like this choice; the guy is actually good when its him out in front of the audience.
Meh, I'll be asleep anyway.
Neil Patrick Harris > Everyone else
I thought he was pretty good in HBII.
Really, some of you act like Seth kicked your puppy. This is just the Oscars aiming for a younger audience. I think it's a bad idea, but let them try it. Personally, I think Ricky Gervais should host just about everything, but I'm sure he has his haters, too.
I still can't figure out why he has to make cartoons when he's obviously one of the best voice actors with range in the industry.
I only like American Dad.
