Which part of his Rosenbauer Panther Fire Engine mode do you think formed up his noticing beard and mustache?

All I can possibly think of are fire hoses.

He had them in the ark as well soooo.... He's had them ever since he was on Cybertron. His alt mode has nothing to do with his beard, and if they were formed by the fire hoses, then they would be much much longer. Plus, he would need a shitload of them to make his beard anyway.

They just have to look like the vehicle, doesn't mean that the parts will all be equal to something in the other form.

Well you know, he could've been on Earth once before the events of DOTM even happened. There were loads of Cybertronians on Earth before Optimus Prime arrived there himself.

Have you seen the film? The ark crashed on the moon, and he was in the ark when it crashed. He was then put into stasis (hence why Optimus, and Ratchet went to the moon to get him). /thread.

He could've been to Earth before the damn war. Just like Jetfire was.

But jetfire was on Earth before The Fallen was beaten by his brothers. I'm pretty sure that (1) Sentinel was built/created/born/whatever after that. and (2) If he did, then i'm sure as heck that firetrucks didn't exist.

    Pretty much this.

His facial hair is probably in the same spot in the fire engine as Starscream's chin was in F-22 mode. Or Barricade's optics in vehicle mode. Or Blackout's head-crest. Depending on how complex his head transformation is, his facial hair may or may not just be full-on present in both modes. Like, a Sentinel head just chillin' in the chassis of the fire engine mode. It's not like every one of the 100+ pieces of their heads needs to fold into place/materialize. For example, Optimus' head seems to rise from his shoulders and two halves of his "helmet" slide into place, but that doesn't mean that his chin-piece needs to pop out of somewhere. It could just be "there". Think of the action figures. How many times do you have to actually do any transforming when it comes to their heads/faces, huh? Not very often I bet. Usually their heads just pop out of their shoulders or slide up from their back or something. If they get really complex you might have to flip out some antennae or slide a headcrest into place, but other than that, not much. If we use the figure as a basis, Sentinel Prime's entire head is resting somewhere near/close to/behind the seating area. It's not like his beard is going to be on the wheel-wells while his optics on in the cockpit and his headcrest is on the roof. His facial hair would presumably be where the rest of his head is.

That's like asking what parts of the car makes Wheeljacks mustache.. like T4mercustomz said, its just a part of the characters design.

Yeah, okay. He also could've been to Jupiter and polka danced with Ronald Reagan if you want to make assumptions like that.

It's just minor cosmetic details to his character, like the facial structures on any other Transformer.

They more than likely existed in Protoform mode as well.

Well, considering Jetfire's 'beard' are formed by metal extensions, it's likely that Sentinel's beard follows a similar strategy, with metal slivers folding out and locking together to make his 'facial hair'.

Sentinel's whole transformation seems to focus on the boxy fire engine breaking up and compacting into the less bulky robot mode, so it would make sense that his facial conversion follows a similar strategy to make the beard.

But yeah, it's part of his design so we don't question it much :lol

That was what misled the OP: he thought it was a metal beard. It looks more like wires and traditional hair. But as Meta777 said, it's part of his design so no need to look too much into it.

To alter Sentinel's quote: Never mourn the negatives, Chopperface. Thanks to you, our forum survives.

Regardless of the mechanical formation behind it, we can surely all agree that Sentinel Prime's beard is awesome? :D

Sentinel's reason: Chicks dig the beard.
