Okay, before I start I want to let you all know that this is my opinion. If you don't think my opinion is correct, let's just agree to disagree. Just thought I'd put that out there since so many people hate Sentinel.

Hey guys, I was watching Dark of the Moon the other day. I really tried to pay attention to the lines and what Sentinel said. I honestly think Sentinel was justified in his decisions ON EARTH. Here are my reasons.

I don't think he intended to betray the Autobots at first. Yes, he attacked Optimus but he held off once he knew they weren't going to harm him.

Sentinel tried to plea his case to Optimus. In Sentinel's eyes, Cybertron is the most important planet. It is their home and it is dying. He wants to save it at any cost. Optimus doesn't want to destroy Earth, but Sentinel still tries to make him understand. I quote "You're lucky I didn't kill you, In time you will see."

When Optimus still won't betray Earth, Sentinel calls them "Rebels" He views Optimus' team as a bunch of bots who want to protect a planet while theirs is dying.

Let put a scenario on the table. If Earth was dying, and there was another planet of lesser beings that coud save our planet. We would take that opportunity. They were desperate.

All Sentinel and Megatron wanted to do was to save Cybertron at ANY cost. Even if people, Optimus, stood in their way.

Thank you all for taking the time to listen to my opinion.

''Evil is a point of view''--Lestat

From anyone's stand point, they are always justified.

Megs/Sentinel are NOT evil, they are set in their ways to keep the species and Cybertron alive.

Very much that Magneto is NOT evil, He feels that he was justified to do the things he did before he reformed.

    Its ALL point of view.

Sorry but he Betrayed the Autobots even before The war ended, he joined the
enemies Forces, and Aided Megatron in his Quest for tyranny, Even if that wasn't
his initial Intention, and a prime is Supposed to Defend all Life and freedom,
and He didn't! he wanted to take Our Planet and Kill and Enslave us
so his actions in my Opinion are not in Anyway Justified

Megatron and sentinel trying to bring cybetron back to its glory days, that they were right but for the wrong reasons. While optimus was wrong for the right reasons. I look at optimus's point of view is why should another planet pay for the transformers mistakes. The transformers destroyed their planet, so no other planet should pay that price

This is almost the exact argument I use to justify the Decepticons' actions against Earth and humanity.

Yes! I had to debate it a lot, but I think that is what we would do.

I completely see your point of view about a Prime's duty, but Sentinel teamed up with Megatron to END the war. He only decided to betray the Autobots when they stood in the way of SAVING Cybertron. He should not have decided to kill Earth and humans, but that was the only option left on the table. He even admited that it was a hard decision. "You were always tyhe bravest of us Optimus, but you could never make the hard decisions!"

So he basically sold his spark? That doens´t put exactly in the moral high ground. This would be akin to the Allies allying with the Germans in WWII to fight off the soviets.

Haha, I admit this is true. Sentinel took action to save Cybertron at any cost. He got right back to duty after being awoken. Optimus was saving ALL forms of life, but aren't Transformers life? Optimus doesn't have to kill so maliciously. But that's :bay  for ya!

From an individual perspective, Sentinel Prime's actions could be justified or condemned. However, if you view it from a moral and ethical perspective ( Like the Autobots do) then he really has betrayed both himself as well as his entire race.

His actions were based on selfish desire, as well as a self righteous attitude. Remember that he told Optimus that on Cybertron they were gods, and on Earth they were called machines?

He took the limited understanding and simple viewpoint of a primitive race ( us) and twisted it to fit his own agenda.

His betrayl began before he ever left Cybertron, then culminated in murdering Ironhide. In no way was he justified at all, as his actions very clearly prove where his allegiances were placed.

This is another thing I hate about the movies. They give some characters a semi noble cause and treat them like Satan.
I won't say it's right or wrong but if they say characters are so very evil then they should make that clear and unquestionable.

The people of Earth would unhesitatingly screw an alien race over for their own ends, even if they weren't desperate and Earth wasn't on a collision course with doomsday. Trust me on this one.

    And that excuses the Cons..because?

I mean really. Cons are evil. Why do people seem to make excuses for this?
