Anyone ever sell a portion of their collection to any site such as BBTS or TFsource? I want to unload a lot of Armada and BW stuff just laying around and I just wanted to see if you guys had any tips on what to expect from them and your own experience doing so.

Send a list to both, making sure you let them know if they are complete with instructions and what condition they are in. But from my experience BBTS offers more. But it wont hurt to ask both.

Whoever buys for TFSource is an ass. The BBTS guy is an ass, too, but he definitely pays better.

Generally I consider them to be more trouble and I'd rather sell on the boards.

It'd probably be easier/faster to sell to BBTS/TFsource, but you might get more money selling it on the boards.

I sold a huge portion to BBTS and got decent money. Tried that a second and third time but got shorted in the offers, ended up turning them down. Made me think I might've gotten more had I pieced them out and sold through the boards, but at the time I thought it'd be easier through just dumping them off all at once through BigBad.

I tried selling BBTS a couple Botcon 2010 figures (Spark and Sky-Byte) and they wanted to give me $75 for both and have me pay for shipping. No thanks.

From people that I know that have sold to BBTS, they tend to get 50%-60% of the prices it is sold for on BBTS. So if Megatron is being sold for $100, most likely they picked it up for $50 or $60. Plus you pay the shipping to them, not the other way around.

    Never sold to TFSource.

    Sold numerous times at BBTS.

There's more than one guy at the vintage department. If you get "Dennis", you're mostly good. If you get a woman [Jessica?] you get a crappy offer.

My last offer to them were two MOC Henkei Figures, various loose Classics and a boxed masterpiece Starscream. And their offer was around 75 USD. With shipping on my end. From Greece, to USA.

Nevertheless, sometimes if you're just looking for store credit they're not bad and you can usually haggle 10-50 USD over their store credit price, depending on the items.

I do have to wonder, how on earth did they manage to go on the 'YOU pay for shipping' route and everybody is along with it? It's cool for Americans where it's 10-20 USD for shipping, but most of the times, for big lots, I had to pay around 70 USD just for shipping!

My last dealing with them they sent out an offer and I turned it around and told them the box was huge and they need to increase the offer and they did.

    Ebay:
BBTS recently bought a bulk majority of my collection last year (almost all G1, Masterpiece etc)....long story there...which I will tell when I put up a new collection thread in a few weeks. Actually the story itself isn't bad with BBTS...They were very good to me and helpful, and Dennis who I dealt with directly multiple times was awesome...it was UPS that I had a major problem with...but it all got resolved thankfully but it took about 2 months of emails, phone calls, and stress!! In the end BBTS even gave me an additional store credit simply for being patient and letting things work themselves out, so kudos to them..I will always recommend those guys!!

Anyways, to answer the OP original question, I have sold to BBTS...tested the waters with TFSource, but after one item realized they were not the ones I was going to go with. I had a sealed G1 Pre Rub Mirage..inquired with BBTS as to what they would offer, and it was well over $250 or more if memory serves (I know I could have sold it on ebay but I didnt have that kind of time)...TFSource told me that "well, we can only offer you $50 because there are so many knockoffs of that figure right now flooding the market and we can't trust it"...I was shocked!! But I'm sure they would have turned around and sold it for $600...Eventually went for high $400's on BBTS.

At any rate, if anyone has been buying any loose G1 figures from BBTS in recent months, you probably own some of my collection! lol I wonder why they have a freeze on loose figures...maybe because of the transition of the store expansion?

Yup, the offer they made makes sense. They will never pay you anything close to Ebay prices. For instance, if you sold that on e-bay for $700. You would take a 12% loss (9% EBay, 3% Paypal). So that brings you down to $620 roughly.

They are going to try to offer you 50% of that. So that would be 310. The highest you can expect to get from them is 60% or $370 max. So she did low ball you, by their standards, but you maybe able to get $300 max from them.

If you don't need the money this second, just stick it on ebay and wait it out. Not to mention, when you send the stuff to BBTS, you will most likely spend $40-$50 on shipping alone!

Thats true bro, I'm not desperate or anything, just wanted to test the waters. I'd rather sell here on the boards but not many of you guys are interested in my stuff it seems lol, well at least the Armada and BW stuff. Yeah the shipping stuff is BS too, I refuse to pay that.

Which is quite a lot when you consider that's the price offered for store credit, so he'd have to pay even MORE for shipping to get the items he used the store credit on. They get him coming and going on that one.
