I've noticed out of my last 5 or so ebay purchases only one seller has left feedback for me even though i have left them positive feedback. I have even asked them a couple of times to leave feedback too. So i'm wondering is this a recent trend? Has this happened to anyone else? I know there's nothing i can do. It's just a bit annoying i guess and i suppose no feedback is better than negative
Nah, it's happened to me. When I first started eBaying, I'd get positive feedback as soon as I paid for the item. Now most of the time I don't get it until I've left the seller feedback, or well after that, and sometimes not at all.
It happens to me all the time. Often what I do is send a message to the seller letting them know I have left positive feedback and ask them to please to the same for me when the get a chance.
I don't leave feedback until I recieved it myself when I'm selling, when I'm buying there's usually a mix of it, but so far when I've bought from people about 90% have left me feedback after I have.
I'm the opposite--when I sell, I leave feedback once payment is received, since at that point the seller has completed the transaction. As a buyer, I pay within minutes of winning and don't leave feedback until the seller does so, again because once payment is sent the buyer has legally completed the transaction.
I thought there was supposed to be some new 'controversial' system in place now where sellers are obligated to leave feedback when the item is paid for...? Guess that hasn't kicked in yet.
That isn't happening. What is happening is that sellers will no longer be able to leave negative feedback to buyers, they will still be able to choose when and/or if to leave feedback. Personally, as a seller I choose to leave feedback after the 45 day window to file a paypal dispute lapses.
I think somepower sellers do there feedback in bulk, Did you buy from power sellers or a guy that does not sell much?
ALOT of sellers are tired of getting dicked by ebay with the fee structure changes and with the feedback changes....i believe it will just get more prelevant and be more pronounced as time goes by and more changes become permanent....
Both. Some were 1000+ and some were under 100. And i've emailed em a couple of times and get no reply.
When I buy I don't expect feedback until I've left it.. when I sell I try and wait for feedback left or leave it a little while before I do My reasoning is that I don't consider the transaction over until the buyer is happy - if they are not then its not finished and I think feedback should reflect the whole transaction not just payment received, if I recieved a payment and then had a whole load of hassle from the buyer then I'd prefer to deal with it before feedback is left.. - I do however send my buyers a message stating this when I let them know I've sent their purchases..
Just recently I decided not to leave feedback for a seller I had bought from. He left me positive feedback for quick payment. But when I received the figure I was disappointed. After I had told him to PLEASE PACK CAREFULLY he decided to place it in a crappy box and the only form of protection was shredded paper!! WTF!!?? The MOMSC figure came a bit warped, there was a crease at the top and a small bent at the bottom corner. So instead of getting crap from him as to me leaving him a negative and such I just decided not to leave him feedback.
As a seller I always leave feedback as soon as my buyer pays. I think of it as a sign of respect and gratitude for the buyer having done their part in the transaction. However I have had several buyers that have not returned the gesture.
