Or just, "What's the lot number?" so we can look up the other stuff...

Obviously he doesn't want to tell us, as we might buy it out from under him.

So all we have to do is come up with a universal search word on ebay, priced "Lowest First" and find a seller with 14 feedback that doesn't take Paypal.

If the 14 feedbacks are all recent and all positive (and at least one as a seller) then he's probably legit. If you're still questioning it, ask him for a picture of the item in his hand upside down or something.

    Check.

And seeing as how that's the case, I obviously don't feel any need to provide helpful advice.

It all depends on the seller, and the item to determine whether or not the risk is worth it. If we dunno what the item is, we can't tell you that. Generally I avoid people who refuse to use paypal.

Non-Paypal users give me lawls. They'd make at least as much in higher bids to offset the fees.

I added it- I've decided not to trust him with such low feedback.

well, he has great feedback rating from 15 people, but the things he has sold didnt go for very much. he's probably not a scammer, but the low feedback would keep me away also unless I got his personal info too.(phone number, address, wife and kids names-where she works, where they go to school etc.)LOL

To keep eBay a safe place for both buyers and sellers, sellers who register after January 17, 2007 are required to offer either PayPal or a merchant account credit card as an accepted payment method for their items.

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/payment-method-accepted.html

The new seller is in violation of eBay's Accepted Payments Policy.

Oh it is listed on his auction, he just doesn't want it to be used. So technically he is offering it without accepting it.

He lists Paypal in his auction. Going by the page Skywarprime linked to, I'd say he doesn't have a damn choice. He's obligated to accept it, whether he likes it or not. Link him to that page and see what he says.

I'd be shocked if the auctions were legit. Most good scammers build up a little bit of good feedback to entice a few more bidders.

I was debating on whether or not to go after this auction. I do not like sending money orders for large amounts. Interested to see how this plays out.

    Interesting.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-Bl...oryZ4696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Canceled because of "an error in the listing".
All his previous auctions were for really cheap stuff; they didn't have ANY mention of him not taking Paypal, and DO have it listed as a payment method. In fact, it's the ONLY payment method listed.
I would avoid this guy like the plague. I'd say he's definitely a scammer.
Edit: Having become intrigued, I just sent him this:
I doubt I'll get any form of reply, of course...

Looking at the photo in the auction...don't originals usually have styrofoam inserts?
