    But I don't wanna be a wiki nerd. :(

Yeah, I'd call them the same continuity family, like how the IDW comics and G1 cartoon are in the same family, but not the same continuity.

Hasbro UK - not knowing its arse from its armpit since forever.

Statement of any kind from marketing department of said collection of useless dingbats = autofail.

*waits for follow-up press release declaring RiD to be the prequel to Prime*

Its happened before. Back when there rumors of a Drift toy floating around, some one asked Hasbro Australia if the rumors for a Drift toy were true. Hasbro Australia was rather adamant that no Drift toy was in the works.

Their fault for not sticking to common sense and only going with the almighty word of Hasbro Marketing. Honestly, who didn't see this coming? It was almost like saying that Real Ghostbusters is in in the same continuity as Filmation's Ghostbusters. Of course, next year when TF3 comes out, Hasbro may change their tune and say that WFC is actually within the movie continuity :lol .

Hasbro's answers change depending on who you ask and what mood their in, it's futile to take their word as solid, even if official. Use your own common sense instead and you'll enjoy things better.

I knew it. I never bought into that that it was the same. WFC is a g1-version backstory. Hasbro was talking out of their ass

Ummm, all you did was call a sales rep, and they certainly aren't a reliable source like the people who made the announcement at BotCon. The people you talked too probably had no clue what "continuities" were, since only people on the wiki really use those terms.

The only people who can give what could be considered a definite answer is Aaron Archer or somebody highup in Hasbro's Rhode Island-based Transformers marketing team. It is difficult to directly contact them (or any other Hasbro employee) outside of conventions and trade shows. Simply emailing Hasbro's US customer service email address may result in an answer that is similar to yours, without any idea of who relayed this information to them to give to you.

The Hasbro Q&A sessions would suffice, if not for the fact that most participating websites seem content to ask "When will Animated [insert figures not yet released] come out?/Will you make [insert G1 toy you want as a Classics]?/Will you make more Alternators?/Will you make more Human Alliance?". And if not for the fact the quality of Hasbro's answers to probing questions (that don't have to do with future toy ideas) can vary wildly, probably down to whomever is available to answer these questions for the PR firm Hasbro uses to handle this Q&A.

I like how you glossed over what Chris McFeely and I had to say about it.

    I'll co-sign to that.
This is what drives me nuts: hanging off of their every word, regardless of whether or not it's non-sense.

HASBRO can come out and say that PRIME is actually a sequel to My Little Pony... and they will regurgitate it when the rest of us will know better.
And repeat it in their website or WIKI. But that's why I maintain that wiki, regardless of topic, is still wiki. It's just too bad that so many refer to them as gospel.

I enjoy PRIME. But it is its own baby, and it is abundantly clear that WFC is the same continuity family as G1... and PRIME stands ready to foster its own continuity family. Hell, I think it can probably stand in the same continuity family as the Movieverse, really.

If they continue to push that PRIME is the same continuity... or continuity family... as WFC, then they take a credibility loss.

You're being factetious, right? I happen to know that came directly from Hasbro's PR guy.

    This one's official.

Hasbro UK = unreliable, at the best of times, for nearly everything.

Sounds to me like they read the first post of this thread, believed it, and ran with it.

I for one don't want them to be related at all, and I swear to god if they screw up the G1 goodness of WFC there will be nothing left for me to like about the game. The online component was so unreliable that the whole community collectively said fuck this game. Hey Hasblow and High Goon...keep these continuities separate...and grow the nuts needed to stand by your first statement when some fans are whinning like little babies.

Yeah I liked how they used the Cybertron image from the game, in the show.
