This just hit me, and so I'll share it with you all. I think I have Starscream mostly figured out now. The basics of his transformation are as I detail on my picture. What it doesn't show is the way the nosecone and intakes transform. Because of the cool airbrake gimmick, nothing can go through the midsection of Stascream like it does on the G1 and RM versions. I think the nosecone folds under, and I would bet money that there is room for it to be inside the chest. The intakes look like they fold down after the arms move out of the way, but I'm not sure how the tips move up to fit on the shoulders. Anyhow, what do you guys think?

I'd guess the the piece just behind the triangular portion of the intake has a double jointed hinge that allows it to fold down over the chest. That same piece is slightly thinner in parts to move up and hide inside the air intake itself. The intakes themselves are hinged at the top so they can move forward slightly in 'bot mode.

The tailplanes look as if they fold flat up against the fins

Looks like they took a cue from Dinobot Swoop for his transformation.

Good work! Similar to G1 Jetfire's transformation with respect to arms and feet...

As long as we can get the gerwalk/guardian mode that I try to put all my plane transformers in before I transform them to robot mode, I'm happy.

You know, in the Robot Master show, there was a scene where Starscream did an emergency gerwalk-type mode, but the RM Starscream couldn't do it.

I dunno, what you posted could be right, or it could be wrong. Really everything in the post was pretty ambiguous, except for saying that the back of the jet opens, which is incorrect and impossible, or it was intuitively obvious, like the legs.

I figured it out just a few seconds after seeing it. kawamori's designs are never as complex as they seem.

In the design pics there is something "sticking out" on his back, I think something opens there...

and it really does look like his "boobs" go on top of his arms in plane mode.

    EDIT: Added Pic

Without seeing the backside, I can only speculate... but I believe that the nosecone does indeed slip in behind his chest based on his head placement in both Jet and Robot mode.

Yeah, I saw that panel as well, but I didn't mention it because it didn't want to post speculation. I looked over the jet mode, but there doesn't seem to be anything on the top of the jet or the nose that has panel structure like that. And yet there it sits. As for the chest facing forward in alt mode, it does seem to do that, and it makes so much sense from a design standpoint.

That's what I love about this design, just from the pics everything seems so logical and well planned, can't wait to see a proto!

I'm assuming that is just the base of the wings. but what gets me is how it is rotated with the rest of the wing. I cant even see a rotation point, just a folding joint on the wings.
I can only guess a panel just behind the airbrake opens on the back and maybe both wings flip up together?

Looks like the extrusions on the legs meet below the panel

agreed that it is similar to jetfire.
It seems much less complicated than Masterpeice Prime or Alternators. A good thing I think. No need to be compicated.

WTG Madness, I think you got it!

I've been puzzling over the extra folds on the wings in bot mode, but it's pretty clear now what's going on. The entire wing sections rotate, the inside base of the wing folds back (guessing hidden joint on the underside joined to the front of the engine covers), and the wing flaps fold down and back (producing the gap and double-fold on top of the wings in bot mode).

That's an awful lot of folding flaps and wings parts though; hopefully the final alt mode. pegs together tightly without loose flappy stuff everywhere.

Something odd about the feet/ankles; it looks like the rear engines are physically surrounded in the structure ...
