Marvel Announces New On-Sale Date For Secret Invasion #8

    Official Press Release

Marvel would like to announce that the hotly anticipated, extra-sized Secret Invasion #8 will now arrive in stores on December 3rd, 2008. The top-selling comic book event of 2008, by award winning scribe Brian Michael Bendis and superstar artist Leinil Yu, concludes with this final issue that redefines the Marvel Universe and begins Dark Reign!

“The additional pages in #8 did both Leinil and the schedule in,” explained Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “Anybody who pored over the artwork from #7 a week ago can easily see how he and Mark Morales have been putting their all (and then some) into every page and every panel, and that effort has finally caught up with us. Hopefully, retailers and fans will forgive us these extra two weeks as we make sure that everything is in the shape it should be in for the extra-sized climax—and from there, it’ll be smooth sailing straight into DARK REIGN.”

David Gabriel, Marvel’s Senior Vice President of Sales, added, “In speaking with retailers, Marvel decided it was more important to preserve the creative integrity of the series, rather than rush out the final issue. This not only creates a stronger product for our loyal readers, but also for our retailer partners, whose support helped make Secret Invasion a huge success.”

Please see below for the updated FOC and On-Sale dates for the thrilling conclusion to Secret Invasion!

The best part of Secret Invasion is the way that Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy both made it work better than the actual miniseries. :lol

Hey, at least it's not as bad as Civil War.

civil war was awesome right up to the point where cap was going to decapitate Iron Man, and i was thinking "do it!" and he didnt and it sucked..... but i am now totally sure the Bendis/Quesada campaign has totally effed over the marvel 616 all to hell and back, and i think Ultimatum is going to do the same to the ultimate u considering marvel informed me that atleast ultimates 3 is now at an end for good. Hopefully 4 will go back to what 1 and possibly 2 was..if there is a 4...

Heh. What I meant was the delay wasn't as bad as Civil War's was. I swaer, that book almost went on for a whole year. Sorry for the confusion.

And just for the record: I enjoyed the hell out of Civil War, until it became meaningless, obliterated by all the events that followed.

Seriously, Marvel. Let the dust settle once and a while, huh?

Sad part is, I was reading Johns' Avengers before he signed with DC exclusively, and I couldn't help but think just how awesome the Avengers would've been if he stayed on.

yeah, that's my issue too...every big event from both companies tends to lead up to the next big event...or tends to lead into the next lead in to the next event...i really would just love things to settle and become the status quo for awhile...

i never read avengers until they were the New Avengers, and i still love the book, i am actually severely dissapointed they screwed up that badass team with both civil war and secret invasion. Caps death and him not, well not so much killing, but him not making it official he beat him which he did is the LAMEST part of it all and now hes dead and all this is blue on the black that is the crap of this universe now to me. Yet somehow i still spend almost 30 bucks a week on marvel
