Hey guys, here's my second repaint - robovision prime.

It's a bit pic heavy, and the lighting is kinda dark, but I hope you like it! Thanks for looking!

*A detail shot of the shoulder and arm flames. I personally think they turned out nicely.

*Another detail shot (albeit quite from an earlier, crappy photoshoot) behind d legs

Thanks! I do obsess a lot about the details, I looked for a lot of movie concept art and pics of other custom primes for reference before starting on this guy.

Then I realized that there were differences between the concept pics - like the presence flames on the lower rib area and on the arms.

I tried to make this guy as close to the actual movie as possible, so I ended up watching his scenes from the movie over and over:p

Thanks! I tried to copy the exact flame patterns from the movie. I don't know how many times I've watched him in the scene with the glasses and the other 'bots and the last one where he sends a message to other autobots in space. :p

Nice! Also consider lengthening the antenna and replacing the hands. Great job!

Nice work, i did something similar, but didnt have any problems with paint on the rear end. Then again i wasn't using acrylics, i used enamels. [IMG] [IMG]

yeah ,you certainly did a good job on the details and paid close attention to the flames on the forearms . it seems that whenever i see a custom on voyager prime each one turns out pretty darn good especially for sonray's recent custom

hey mampy, how did you get such a nice black backdrop for your photo shoots? I tried black paper, and it looks gray and like paper :(

Try using fabric (velvet works great for me). It absorbs the light much better than paper. You can also try diffusing the light and/or tinkering with your white balance.

Hey guys, thanks for all the positive comments!

I bought this large poster paper that has black felt on one side. I agree with freezowave, cloth doesn't reflect light as much as paper.

I also made a lightbox to diffuse the light. Check out this link:
