Season 1 is almost over. Has there been any kind of announcement for a boxset for the first season yet?

Nope, because they didn't even finish animation for the season yet and all.

But there's been some rumors, a member here that worked for some canadian store mentioned a Blu-ray priced TF Prime release in his store's computers, never any confirmation though.

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early man.

Besides everyone would rather see RiD or Animated season 3 released first.

Be my luck, we'll get Season One on DVD towards the end of the year to early next year.

I hope we don't get a DVD release - this should be BLURAY only! This show was made for HD and should stay that way.

    Um...no. Just no.

DVD and Blu-ray, sure. But just Blu-ray? WTF?

I don't have a Blu-ray player, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon. And I'm sure a lot of ppl are in the same boat.

    So yeah, DVD please.

I don't have bluray, Plus many people around the world don't. If they are smart they would release it on both though. They would make all there money with the DVD sales mostly and for the few special people who have bluray payers will also be satisfied.

I just hope if they do it, it is a full season and not 5 episodes per DVD like other shows have been doing

Of course they should release it in both, but they should definitely put it out on BD. After watching it in HD, I wouldn't buy it any other way.

I wish the HUB had an HD version. Disney XD does.

I'm not expecting Prime to get onto DVD until later in the fall, to be honest. Right now, the Hub is not on nearly as many outlets as Cartoon Network or Disney, so a DVD of their flagship show will probably be the biggest way for most to know about the series.

Plus, timing the release with the toys (akin to how Animated's premiere hit DVD with the toyline) offers great cross promotion. I'm expecting "Darkness Rising" to be released as a stand alone "movie" around October, with the rest of the season following by Christmas, just in time for the toys to start hitting retailers.

If they only do one format, it should be Bluray. If they want to do both, that's fine.

Um, the way I understand it, Bluray players do play regular dvds.

I'm right there with you. I don't own a bluray player, nor do I have any plans to purchase one any time in the near future. I didn't switch from vhs to dvd until around 2004/2005. I just don't see any reason on spending more money for the same movie/tv series.

Really? there's no HubHD channel? I wasn't aware of that. I just figured these days that every channel had an HD channel.

As far as whether or not the full season fill be released, I'd guess that it probably will be released while the second season airs. Hasbro is gonna want to push this series with both toys and dvds. So I'd guess yes it will be released on dvd while the series is still airing.

There is a hub HD channel. I'm watching it right now. Maybe his provider doesn't get an HD feed or maybe it's not labeled right?

I'm in total support of Blu-Ray after getting The Clone Wars Seasons 1-2 in that format and seeing how amazing the animation looked. I'd buy that in an instant.

Few special people who have blu ray players? So that's every single person in the world with a functioning Playstation 3 for a start. And aren't Blu-Ray players now about the same price as a DVD player, with added bonus of playing both formats?

I don't know what planet you live on mate, but Blu Ray stopped being the 'niche' HD format for the market and is well on its way to becoming a standard.

I agree it would be good business sense to release the show on both formats, as the DVD is usually cheaper, but don't pretend that Blu Ray is still just for enthusiasts.
