So today I was looking over the list of G1 Season 1, 2 and Animated Movie Classics and realized they are almost done.

This is all that is still needed (keep in mind that I am counting third party products)

    Season 1:
    - Gears (could be an easy repaint of Brawn)
    - Huffer (could be an easy repaint of Brawn)
    - Hauler (He never transformed, so I don't know if we count him)
    - A Proper sized Trailbreaker (even though Legend is better then nothing)
    - Dinobots
    - Shockwave
    - Laserbeak (PE repaint on the way, so not sure this even belongs)
    - Buzzsaw (PE repaint on the way, so not sure this even belongs)

    Season 2:
    - Hoist (Trailbreaker repaint)
    - Skids
    - Omega Supreme
    - Defensor
    - Blitzwing
    - Menasor

    Movie:
    - Steeljaw
    - Ramhorn
    - Baliff
    - Sharkticon (a better mold)

Now out of this, I see one more Classics/Generations line and we are done.

Also, I wonder if that point Hasbro or some other vendor will finally start getting to some other combiners besides Devastator. Most of Seasons 3 new figures were combiners, so what is going to happen once these last couple of repaints and mold finish. Do you think we will ever see a classics:

    - Menasor
    - Defensor
    - Predaking
    - Abominus
    - Computron
    - Metroplex
    - Trypticon
    - Fort Max
    - Scorponox

I mean those are so large and possibly expensive we may never see them, at least from Has/Tak. I still wonder if we will see a good triple changer like Blitzwing, or if Hasbro will ever do six shot.

I almost cannot see them do any of these. So it looks like G1 classics have a couple more years and they may be done if Has/Tak doesn't step up.

That's a lot of toys for only one line. I could see them stretching it out for awhile, it would be nice if they branched out to other TF lines as well. Definitely get some Beast Wars characters in there too. Rhinox desperately needs a good update.

I usually have the same answer for any Classics thread: move on. Other eras need loving too.

Keep in mind I am counting FP stuff and other third party. So I have something on my shelf for them. Not to mention they did a "springer" if you can him that POS that.

not sure they will do that. That is so specialized I could see Takara maybe doing it, but not Hasbro.

Well I didn't list all of Season 3 on here, but not to many there and a lot can be repaints.

But yeah, they covered a SHIT LOAD.

I may start hunting down customizers for Combiners to finish off my collection.

I hope they finish it before going on to Beast Wars toys, if they do. BW stopped my collecting Transformers for a long time, really till Classics came out. I know I'm in minority there but I hated it like people who hate Animated. Just MHO and I loved Animated, kinda liked Cybertron. You get it. lol

THIS, lol. We may get a few more "classics" but you will be waitin' a LONG time to get that list fulfilled. Half of it may never happen and they will probably move on to other ideas like the Japanese G1 (I like that idea :)  )

I hated it, I didn't get involved with any of it. Didn't buy the toys or watch the show. But it's over and I have no axe to grind, so I don't bring it up much.

I don't think Beast Wars is likely to come back in a big way. They're not going to stop doing G1 and move on to Beast Wars. They'll maybe get a handful of molds in classics, but mostly for the sake of variety. Doesn't bother me. The trend I've seen in recent years is animal molds just don't seem to sell all that well. Animated Black Arachnia, Waspinator, Movie Scorponok, ROTF Ravage, Insecticon. All have shelfwarmed to some degree.

I don't begrudge other series getting token recognition. They're not the main event, but if they make for good toys, and people want them, great.

I'm pretty sure they're not ever going to stop doing G1.

They'll pay lip service to other lines, with Beast Wars probably getting the most attention.

I can agree with that, it just wasn't my thing and if other people DIDN'T buy them we may not have gotten any more. So it wasn't a bad thing just not my thing. I liked the recent Dinobot figure but most animal tf's just don't go over the way vehicle typed ones do. I want MOAR Classics!!! :D

I don't agree that much to that. Yes, some of the other eras would be nice, but a full g1 cast needs to be completed at some point

I can't see the G1 Classics line ever being really 'finished'. Even if they did get around to updating every G1 character, including the really obscure ones (eg - Xaaron, Devcon, Scrounge), they could just go back and do new versions of some/all of the characters. Just look at how often we get threads along the lines of "when is HasTak going to do a proper Classics figure for [character]". Given that the fandom is always going to find something wrong with every single Classics release and want "proper" versions, HasTak can just cycle through the characters over and over again.
