Are transformers that are still MOSC or MISB but yellowed still worth anything. Or does that take away from their worth?

Probably the same as loose yellowed

Well, it would probably depend on the figure & amount of discolouration, but generally speaking, I'd assume that a yellowed toy would be worth less than one that hadn't gone all yellow snow on you.

Same for flaking chrome, which sadly can happen without physical contact as well.

Probably would detract heavily from the value.

Exception might be for something that's considered a rarity/expensive in the first place, like say Artire. People may settle for it simply because a better example is expensive.

I would think it would seriously devalue it. All depends on who's paying, things are worth different prices to different people. But if someone is a MIB collector, then they have a very high attention to detail. They want that side box take intact and uncut. Having something yellowed would "ruin" it for them I would think.

I just uncarded my TM2 Cheetor because I saw him flaking through the bubble. I was pretty sad, but at least now that I opened him I can play with him. *pats his head*

I've been on an unboxing binge lately and I am just indecisive about opening a figure that's been on the card since the 80's. But now he's grossly yellow. I'd like to keep it on card, but it's pretty crappy looking now.

    Yep.

Pics or it didn't happen, by order of the internet.

(sorry about Cheetor btw, but at least he's supposed to be kinda rabid & asymmetrical, so it probably doesn't ruin him the same way it ruins certain others, specially since he doesn't rely on as much vac metal when compared to the regular TM dudes)

yeah its value is going to drop, as normally those who buy MIB and especially MISB want the figure and packaging to be as close to flawless as they can get.

How can you hate on Spay-C? He was my first ever transformer. Though mine wasn't yellowed :cry .

Should I just open him then? I can dip him something to make him white again, right? I think I saw that somewhere. The onyl reason I kept him in box was because my original one used to lose the tail all the time.

I'm actually glad I opened him. He's awesome. So it was kind of a good thing.

I've read some shit about somethingsomething peroxide that helps restore the plastic (there were even pics to go with it), but I've never tried it for myself or really looked into the issue because with all due respect, Action Master Prowl's current state of mild sunburn's pretty low on the "attention list".

Also, do you have a link or something to what that Spray-C robot is? I never had anything similar, but I'm generally interested in odd stuff like this, and googling that name on image search mainly just found me this.

I have a MISB G1 Battletrap whose helicopter part has visibly yellowed. He wasn't very expensive, luckily, so I'm most probably going to open him some day for that nostalgic 'opening a G1 Transformer box' feeling, without needing to slap myself silly for ruining its value by even just cutting the tape.

Well, you've already ruined its value by exposing the box to both air as well as human hands, so you might as well finish what you started. Nobody likes a quitter.
