Well, y'know, I could go and tell him his career is derailed because of his associations with suck, but the guy terrorizes journalists and hangs out with the mob. I'd be afraid for my life.

Ya and his first guest would be Jene Cloud Van Damn.

And also Chuck Norris would make an appearance on the same show!

and they could all do like ninja moves....and stuff.

It couldn't have been anything to do with him being a crappy actor

Or the fact that far more flamboyant martial artists started making movies

Or the fact that he couldn't lay off the Haagen-Dazs and chunked up

Or the fact that he worked his wife like a speedbag

No, it must be the FBI's fault

Will Sasso did an awesome impersonation of him on MadTV. Maybe that killed his career.

Will Sasso is a better Seagal than the real Seagal these days. He should try to do something a little different than the same movie over and over again for the umtheenth time.

Yeah he should market himself as a serious dramatic actor, that way his movies could totally bypass theatres, skip right by the DVD rack and be dumpster-direct.

I'm not sure whether Seagal is actually up his own arse or whether he is in on the joke and does it all for irony value, he certainly seems to do stuff at both ends of the spectrum.

He must still be big somewhere thougth, he woulden't be making 3 to 4 films a year if he wasen't regurdless of the fact that they all go strait to video. Eastern Europe or South East Asia maybe?

i think hes aware of how naff he is. hence the inclusion of gangsta type co stars like ja rule to capture the urban/hip hop audience.

...but man, even brothers think ja rule is lame, seagal = FAIL.

edit: oh man i mixed cross continent slang naff/lame, i fail too.

If you think Ja Rule is lame, I saw him in a Thai/Canadian film the other day with the dude who played Ryu in the Street Fighter movie.

I think its his inability to act rather than the FBI thats the reason for nobody giving a shit about him or his career.

Shouldn't Segal be seeking an apology from himself for making such damn awful films? Still, it gives Channel 5 plenty to show on weekday evenings when they've exhausted their Van Damme collection. Again.

First I've heard of his mob connections or the FBI allegations, and I wouldn't have paid to see amovie with him in it anyways.

Strangely, thats the only work of his that I didn't hate.
He should almost go the route of doing parody movies about himself; I think that would be the only thing that could save his career at this point.
