Well you have to admit, I bet this set is doing wonders for their membership figures.

Ordered for $210. Just got to get through customs now!

There are 1500 Seacon sets. There are 1200 Nightbeats. So about that many people will get them(minus some double-up collectors). If quite a few people miss out because they don't have their finances together for something we've known has been coming for months(and people have complained about the constant delays), that just means that same few number of people who do have their money in order do get them that might have missed out if the unprepared people got some special treatment.

Whatever pre-order system or rules the club uses, the total number of collectors who get to enjoy them is the same.

Knowing there is a set, fixed, finite number of sets available and thus only a set, fixed, finite number of people will get them, isn't it proper to distribute them to the people who are ready? Is there something wrong with first-come-first-serve?

This. Had they done these back in April, when we ended up moving to a new house, I might have missed out. But We've known about these long enough, as well as all of the delays in the preorder process, and I've been saving a little bit every paycheck so I was ready to go on day one. If you weren't doing the same, it's not anyone else's fault that these are selling faster than you were expecting.

Granted, I know how stuff can unexpectedly crop up from time to time, and if anyone ends up missing out because of unexpected home/medical/etc expenses, that sucks.

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as just saving up. I've been in financial woes for the past 2 or 3 months. So I haven't had extra cash to set aside.

And that is exactly one of the situations that I feel sorry about. Hopefully they won't sell out before you get a shot at them.

For those that are still on the fence on buying these guys and/or are waiting for cash resources to become available AND members of the Club, Pete's been giving daily updates on how many have been sold.

    Just check the TCC Forums.

I'll wait it out and have a member hook me up with the Seacons later, if there are any left when I have more cash. I'm not going to blow the extra money joining just to get one toy, the only toy they've ever had that I'm interested in.

According to Pete about 30% of the Seacons are gone and 20% of the Nightbeats. Thats about 1050 Seacons left and 800 NB. That should hold over into next week or longer.

Normally, I get stuff in (more or less) appropriately-sized boxes (so not a lot of room for moving around inside) with plenty of newsprint stuffed inside and a plastic sheath around the boxes inside. (I've only ever ordered BotCon and club exclusives, which have always been in collector's boxes)

    I've never had any problems.

Well places like BBTS and such seem to have no problem waiting to charge. Plus, why take the risk of something going wrong and landing in hot water with a lot of people? I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in that kind of position.
