They're definitely not G1. I think they're early test shots from the cancelled Universe release....either that or yeah; they're going to be re-released in the near-future.

Given the club's none-too-subtle hints that they're planning to release these, I was wondering when something like this would show up.

It's been 99% confirmed by the club that we're going to be getting them. No reason to think this isn't the first batch of test shots... I can't wait!

    ZOMG it's the botcon 08 set :p

Actually an all white seacon set would look pretty sweet, esp with a few minor paint apps.

Might as well be a God Neptune reissue, at that point.

I wonder if the auction itself is a clue as to what we might end up getting? I find it very doubtful to be honest, but what if the TFCC set was a set of completely unpainted Seacons? That way, anyone could (potentially) get their Piranacon reissue, complete God Neptune reissue with more parts and unreleased Nautilator, or even Piranhaking.

they already have test shots of the universe seacons, why would they do MORE test shots with no colors.. makes no sense, unless they decided change up the colors completly, and go beastwaars 2 god neptune. but since he says in one question... they have no legal markings... maybe these are a test shots from the G1 KO guys.

That was three years ago. Maybe they had to see if the molds were still intact after those three years?

They typically do multiple test shots in various plastic color schemes because most of the time the plastic is part of the molding, they're not painted. Good chance these are just one of many runs of "prototypes"/"testshots" to get an idea and a feel of the color schemes, etc.

It's how they tell if a certain color of plastic can handle the molding process (some colors of plastic are weaker because of the color make up of the plastic).

Or so I've been lead to believe in the past.

Sigh. Unfortunately nothing to indicate final colors yet, unless they actually are going to be mostly white.

Encouraging indication that things are moving forward, however.

Interesting, I never had any of these as a kid, so it would be fun to have that whole line!
