Man, I really want a classic Soundwave figure...

Is there any way of getting this bad boy without attending the convention? I don't think I've got the resources (see: cash :D ) to go to ComicCon T_T

We've had Alternators Nemesis Prime, then Classics Nemesis Prime... we should have ANIMATED Nemesis Prime this year. There's still a second figure...

They figured they'd go ahead and screw themselves over before Takara got a chance to.

It's to tie into the fact Ravage is making his big screen debut alongside Soundwave this year.

But this isn't a mass release, it's just for SDCC and HTS.

Hey guys, remember, they're hoping to sell this to more casual fans and general nerds at SDCC because it's SOUNDWAVE and RAVAGE'S DEBUT IN A MAJOR HOLLYWOOD MOVIE. If you already own the Classics reissue and will get the Encore casette packs, then you don't need to get this, obviously.

If this were the first time they'd done Soundwave with the double tape deck, it'd be awesome. The TRU release was so awesome for that reason, I bought two...on top of the three Soundwaves I already had. If they'd taken the opportunity to round up the Frenzy/Rumble mold and included one/both of those (to be used again somewhere later to defray costs) instead of the umpteenth bird and kitty releases, that might be worth it. But, while stateside Ratbat is cool, it ain't worth $50 and the annual headache of trying to get SDCC exclusives on HTS. I'll just have to live with the one that miraculously survived childhood intact...and I was probably going to get the Encore release, too, anyway.

if it had been frenzy, rumble, ratbat, and buzzsaw, i'd be all in. but i really don't want a re-issue of the re-issue soundwave with lazerbeak and ravage again

Makes sense. Making Soundwave easily available is a good way to hook old fans, and new fanboys.

Cool, I would totally pick this guy up if I haddnt already got a TRU exclusive Soundwave that was way over priced.

Does anyone know if he will go on sale at hasbrotoyshop like Nemesis Prime did last year?

Considering that it costs over $40 to get a Encore pack of 4 cassettes, this is a pretty good deal. Considering the TRU reissue with two cassettes was only $30, that makes this a bit less of deal. Of course, I understand why a convention exclusive would cost more though.

Anyways, since I have the TRU reissue, this guy is a pass, and this is the first time in a while I didn't want a SDCC exclusive. They usually have two though, so maybe there is still something not announced?

If this guy gets sold on HTS after the 'con, I am so buying him. I still need a G1 soundwave, and having him with four tapes, especaily Ratbat, for around $60 is a steal! I'm also unable to get the Encore release of Ratbat, so this is another way to get the valuable minion.

Guess I'd better save up around $120 for him then, I just hope that he does hit HTS, as I'm not able to go to SDCC. That, and that he doesn't get sold out.
