i stumbled across this; is this legit? never heard of it before. http://toy-workers.blogspot.com/2008/02/comic-con-exclusive-nemesis-prime.html UPDATE: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers...sive-classics-nemesis-prime-confirmed-164278/
I severely doubt it... considering it's just the stock photos for Prime blacked out and the mold is being used in a very similar manner for Botcon.
that site i link is a local site. i know the site owner. somebody stateside just PMd me a confirmation... *twiddles finger*
That... would be an odd play for Hasbro to grant two such similar exclusives in the same year. I have to think that if true, the Botcon people can't be happy about it.
Wuuuuuuuhat...? I'm going to check my comic stores out for info on this too. Keep us informed, KA! I would order it if I could.
Agreed. My first reaction is to call BS, but I suppose anything's possible. If true, it's just a really bad idea...
Kind of upsetting, I was hoping the Alternator exclusives would continue for SDCC... we could get Alt Frenzy or Red Alert still, even Ironhide from the Scion mold. Or at least a better Titanium if they just had to do black again, give us that Skywarp they promised or Cheetor as a Beast Machines Ravage might look great.
I was kinda hoping for an Alt. Frenzy myself, though I don't see this as too out of line, especially when the exclusives often piggy-back on someone else's production run of the mold (Takara Classics Convoy - Botcon Evil Op - SDCC Nemesis Prime) I'll keep an eye out. Kinda hope that's not the ONLY TF exclusive at SDCC though.
Hmm. Until I see a proper colour photo (as opposed to a black and white version of a Hasbro stock photo) I'll remain skeptical.
I will lol when Botcon Set collectors get their noses bent out of joint. But I highly doubt this will be at all similar outside of the mold and the colour black. And this will also be affordable. And more plentiful no doubt.
Hear Hear. Back when we got that little grain of info that they would possibly continue Alts as convention exclusives, I had/have high hopes for what they release at SDCC this year. Thankfully it's still not out of the realm of possibility since I doubt they'll only release one exclusive figure. As for this Prime rumor, I can't say I'm surprised. For whatever reason people seem to like this "nemesis" bullshit and want to have it pollute every line, so it was probably an easy no-brainer decision for Hasbro. But in its defense, even at the height of its lameness, it still makes more sense than that gothic Joker repaint they're releasing @ BotCon this year.
