I thought I'd pick the brains from some of you out there who work with custom boxes and other print media here. I have to admit that the slick, retro slipcase that's reflective is one of the main draws for me to Blaster. If you don't know, I'm a bit of a package nut anyways. I thought it would be a cool discussion for us to try to pick apart something like this from a graphic design standpoint. Thoughts? Discuss!
I like the design for this slip case. Its got a fun style, that matches Blaster's personality. It basically gives you an idea what to expect inside, haha.
I know, right?! Obviously, It's not a case of finding a paper that's reflective like this and just going to print. I was wondering if someone experienced in this sort of thing might could shed some insight.
I can get something like this made, but on the small scale, it would cost a FORTUNE! My buddies print shop makes everything, hologram type stickers/cards for pro football parking passes and all that stuff. He saw my blaster pics from the con and nonchalantly said "sweet its a blah blah print on blah blah paper". I asked if he could do something like that for my custom boxes he prints and he laughed. Quite Costly.
Yeah, I was kinda thinking this was the case. Bummer. If you find out anything else, feel free to post updates here
I like it, I display my sleeve next to the box itself. It really draws your attention to the figure which is great if you saw these in stores. Highly collectible box I think.................
