Wait, so this is supposed to be a version with better paint and the eyes are still the glopped on Allspark blue?

Are people still not clear on the difference between the words PREMIERE and PREMIUM? They don't mean the same thing.

Anyway, I do have to agree this should have been the retail version. At the very least, it should have been Takara's retail version.

Agreed! And the SDCC version should have had ACTUAL movie-accurate paint. The truck mode is still missing a lot of silver bits, and while the flames on the chest are nice, there are several other areas that do not have them that should have them.

Also, WHY ARE THEY STILL IGNORING THE KNIGHT FOREARMS??

A piece of tire as a bonus? WTF.
I'll better understand it if they included a TRAILER to make 'Exclusive Worthy'.

Can Hasbro just hire JADA TOYS to paint their TFs?
F*ck it Hasbro. This should be the one be sold in RETAIL.

Add a Trailer, paint it MUCH BETTER and make it Exclusive all you want. It's fine.
    But this?
    Plus a PIECE OF TIRE?
    Sh*t.

Not sure why the tire idea is getting dissed so heavily. Bad choice/taste? Maybe. This idea is far from new though, as Hasbro has pulled this stunt with their collectible cards having a piece of a soldier's jacket worn for filming Transformers.

The figure and its execution itself is another story, like another bad story, but yeah. The tire idea will find its proper appeal. I would have happily coughed $49.99 Hasbro's way had they removed the tire from the deal and focused instead upon making the figure's color scheme as accurate as possible. It's so disappointing, because the TLK Voyager Prime is actually a figure I enjoy immensely and would not have minded double dipping on, but not for this schtick

They also painted the hip guards but not the shoulder paldrons. I also have no idea why that spot above the foot is red.

Well, it's an improvement but it could be better and more screen accurate. Seriously? What is the deal with that blue collar? Hmm....I'll keep it in mind (because I collect premiums/most screen accurate releases of each movie toy), but it's still not properly screen accurately painted, even for a mass market item. I'll buy one just to have it on hand, but the moment something's by more accurately painted gets announced, he's up for sale.

Do any of you think that this is a sign that there will be Transformers display or announcements at SDCC this year?

I hope that if they do make a more screen accurate painted voyager prime, that he comes in another AOE premium style box set with other premium screen accurately painted figures like Hound, wave 3 Bumblebee, red drift, crosshairs, etc. The previous premium AOE Autobot 5 pack Hasbro did was fantastic. They need to keep making those types of items for premium level figures.

How odd....that half blue collar is still there....

These are some weird deco choices for TLK. Prime has yet to bear an accurate paint job(aside Takara's Calibur and DML models) and one would think an SDCC Prime would have accurate deco.

And yea it'd be fake but I'd be more excited if it came with part of the face that Prime ripped off of a Decepticon from ROTF-present rather than a piece of tire.

I don't mind double dipping if I have no choice. But beyond 2 toys of the same mold, that's a consumer abuse hahaha..
So this one isn't really 100% Movie Accurate?

Then well call it 80% movie accurate.
Then there will come a time there will be a 100% movie accurate but it'll require buyers to pay a hefty price tag.
ehem Platinum Edition ehem TLK Voyager Prime with 'movie accurate' label in the box hahaha..

Me too. This will be a very nice shelf item to never ever open. Hope I can snag one off the Hasbro toy shop.

The James Bond franchise does this same thing with collectible cards. They cut up the several costumes they have copies up and put them into the cards. Sometimes its henchmen #6's shirt and sometimes it's James Bond's pants.

But it isn't 'premiere' it's 'premier' which does mean premium or 'top tier' as in the premier league, or the PM/president beyond referred to as the premier.

Premier means "first" - first league, first (prime) minister.

I suspect Hasbro is intentionally using the word to cash in on people's misunderstanding.

Another official image from Hasbro of a mis-transformed toy (the chest panels aren't in place, and the "trailer connector" panels are missing from the insides of the legs).
