SDCC 2017: Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime Figure Revealed - IGN

I honestly can't tell the difference between different versions of this mold. They all look the same to me.
Dangit, this should've been the mass released one. I mean this one doesn't even have paint sparkles or a metallic finish, it could honestly pass as a factory offering. It still bears the wrong blue collar color, and his legs and shoulder guards don't have the red flames as the CGI model does.
His official image robot mode is even missing the truck sideflaps lol
Not that I'm one who likes to compmain, but this could and should be much more better.
There's flames on his chest, gold on legs and torso, more silver on his head, red on the toes, painted blue parts on his sides. Silver hubcaps. Also better painted sword and shield.
The piece of tire is an interesting little extra for an exclusive. (I'm probably still going to pass though since it shifts it a little too much into the collectible side of things.)
I think I'll just wait for Reprolabels to make my Voyager Prime look a little nicer
Going to pass on this one. Hopefully we'll get some Trypticon news soon.
What is with these stock photos always displaying Prime with his pecs down?
This is exactly what I wanted, hope it's not to hard to get a hold of.
Yeah, but tbey could have put that in a $50 boxset with Megatron. It looks good, but it's not as good as it could be or should be for SDCC exclusive. If they had given it something like a more accurate colorscheme on the head, had the silver encompass most of the bits rbat are supposed to be silver instead of leaving it dull gunmetal, and give it the head with a mouth instead of a faceplate it would have been a bit better. And just because it has flames doesn't mean they are entirely accurate either.
Like I said above, this could and should have just been an exclusive in some boxset at retail. SDCC exclusives are usually different in some way from the mass release version of the figure. This has a couple more paint apps but not much, not enough to warrent its postion.
This is exactly what the regular release should've been. It's madness that you have to buy an exclusive to get the correct deco. Though who knows why he still has a blue collar. I'm hoping this won't be too expensive to get to the UK.
So the slightly better painted version that we should've gotten in the first place is an expensive convention exclusive. I don't usually opt for such crassness but fuck you, Hasbro.
So this falls in line with the average SDCC Transformer exclusive - somewhat-to-barely differentiating from the retail version with certain exceptions, and a fancy box.
Only this one comes with a piece of tire too.
Looks like I'll go without a SDCC TF exclusive for the second year in a row, unless they bring back the Kreons for a Class of '86 set.
That is a beautiful toy.
But it falls victim to the same issue of all exclusives. It's beautiful you want to transform it and display it, but the second it's removed from its package it loses all monetary value and the price paid to even get it. That's always such a tough decision when you sink so much money into something that's as gorgeous as this.
Looks gorgeous, but a few more paint apps, a bigger box and a piece of a tire aren't really worth an extra $20 to me. If it was a hard mold to find, I could see considering it, but a wave 1 Optimus Prime will still be hanging on shelves months from now
Oh, Transformers are turning into sports cards!
It's nice enough but this is something I'd expect to see from TakaraTomy at retail (and yes, I know their's is an exclusive too in this case). I hope the people who want it have fun fighting over the few they make.
Okay, facetiousness aside, I hope the people who want one can get one, and I hope the people who try to scalp them get trampled.
trukk not karr
Yeah! whats up with the collar constantly being painted blue. Must be a part of the same mold/tree that they paint blue and just said F-it...
Not being a stranger to customs, if I really wanted to I think I would just repaint this guy myself. But my premier edition pretty much stays in alt-mode and looks pretty good as-is(imo) and is fun to fiddle with from time to time.
