Soundwave! Ravage! Yes!  

 

Okay, so all bought. A given. But I was really hoping the G1 Ion Blaster was just a stand in.

 

That Soundwave design was horrible as a deluxe, and it's not really improved despite the inclusion of the tapes as a voyager ~ he loses the gut the deluxe had but his proportions are kind of whack. And, it goes without saying the Alt mode is an abomination.

It's just shocking to me that with 3+ lines of 'Classics' under the belt we haven't got a true Soundwave update but this monstrosity is already getting a redo.

 

Sideswipe's face is really derpy. I'm not really looking forward to many of these toys. I want my real Classics line, not a FoC line.

 

So...is FoC Soundwave really going to come with G1 Optimus Prime's gun, or are they still just using that as a weird stand-in weapon?

 

Starscream looks kinda tall for a deluxe.

They'll like give us TC and SW but not for another 4 years of jerking us around via Botcon and Henkei.....

 

Hmmm... not a lot exciting me here.

 

Fireflight still looks pretty nice. I don't really like is AS Fireflight but the colors are nice and I dig the head sculpt. Starscream looks decent too. The rest look terrible and will be easy passes. I will say its nice they remolded Jazz that extensively for Sideswipe, but a bad mold is still a bad mold.

 

Apparently he's Air Raid now. Which makes the colors more off but the baddass look a MUCH better fit.

-ZacWilliam, Fireflight was the space case/childlike one, so warrior Air Raid is a better match for a mean/cool looking mold. Even if the colors are now wrong.

 

after picking up FOC prime.. i'm not too excited about this line. especially for the price.

.. i do plan on getting starscream, i think he looks fantastic.

but a voyager soundwave still seems like a complete and absolute waste to me.

 

Hm. Nothing exiting, to be honest. Just the same stuff from Botcon.

I mean, at least give us a Thundercracker to get exited about.

hmm, havin a rough time with bruticus, although it looks better in these pics than in other i've seen. sidewipe and starcsream are must haves for me. Probably get kicback and ultra magnus just for completions sake.

 

The more I see, the less I like. FOC Starscream still looks good, but I'm thinking about passing on the rest.

 

So the only voyager in the waves is going to be....

Soundwave, and more Soundwave.

Anyway Magnus, Screamer, and Sideswipe look pretty good. Magnus works better as the Optimus mold anyway. Soundwave doesn't do enough different from the deluxe to be worth it even with the tape gimmick. Those wheels could have easily folded behind his torso and his hands could have had swivels. Air Raid actually looks like a great retool, and kickback looks pretty rad.

Impressed that the repaints actually have paint, even if it is just applied for the show. Still nothing new. Which is lame.

 

So Hasbro waited to SDCC to show us things we have already seen. Thx Hasbro
