Hey everyone. Here is my latest model, part of a commission I'm working on. I had to build a new Prime/Magnus model that is more toy accurate, compared to the previous Prime model. This one is also fully animatable and transforms, but easier to work with due to the lower poly count. :)  So here are the renders.

    And yay for a 1000 posts. :D

I'll be sending Joe Moore proper wallpaper sizes for the first 2 pictures. :)

I use Softimage XSI 4.2 for modeling, love the modeling tools it has. :)

Loving those renders...the lighting and materials are excellent, and the meshes themselves are a bit tasty, too. Thought your ├╝berdetailed version was outstanding, but there's something about the clean, toy-like aspect of this model that really hits the spot. Any thoughts of doing the City Commander upgrade kit at some point? :thumb

    And ditto on RL's plea...possibly something a bit conehead-tastic, perhaps? :D

Thanks for the replies everyone. :)

Crimson Primus> I render everything in Softimage XSI as well. It comes with mental ray since the earlier versions. :)

Trailbreaker77> I like the first model too, but this new one is easier to work with, and faster to render. :D

Redline> I've had a Megatron close to finish, which rivials my detailed Optimus model. Haven't had a chance to finish it though, but I'd love to get that done, and make a model for the seekers.

Sledgehammer> Thanks for the comments. Coneheads would definitely be done if I took on the seekers. And for City Commander...

Might of already be done. :D  Can't post renders until I get the OK.

    Great work Venksta!

Ironically I was working on making this exact same model, toy accurate an' all... started it back in February but never finished... maybe a week or so ago broke it out again but now I feel totally beat to the punch. Absolutely fantastic job you've done, amazing attention to detail and love the rendering, very curious to know how you've rigged him (them) up and if we'll see some videos/animations... and the Ultra Magnus upgrade... can't wait to see that!

Look for a PM from me in your mailbox, I'd love to pick your brain some and don't feel like entirely thread jacking this awesome post.. again, great stuff, post more images of your work!!
