Frosted Ultra Detail. It's a material type you can print in.

Too bad shipping will probably cost as much (or twice) the price of a few sets of these, otherwise i'd definitely get some, they'd go great with the FE Prime Bulkhead that i'm waiting for from ebay :p

Did you print any of these yourself or did you have shapeways do all the printing? I'm just wondering if i should invest in a 3d printer of my own. (the UP! Desktop 3d printer looks pretty good)

Incidentally, reading this thread has hit me with the overwhelming urge to watch Scrapheap on youtube, which i'm doing now :D

It's more of a convenience, simplicity issue really...I don't like to clutter up my Shapeways list too much unless there's a crazy important reason for it, and people are going to have a hard time browsing when there's a part A here, part B there, etc. Plus there's linking to the TFW threads.

And if there's an updated model, it will be a crazy job to do housekeeping on the page.

Fair enough, although I have seen Part A/Part B linked in the description part of a page before (especially in a head design >lightpiping<) .. But I respect your reasoning..

Ahh...I only did that once, for the MegaMace as I want to test the possibility of buyers using a different material for the 'energon' portions. No one seemed to have done it as far as I know LOL

Sorry, not trying to but in on your thread but, just thought you'd like to see the infestation you started on my work bench. Lol. These little guys are great. Im a big fan of your designs and of how well Shapeways stuff takes sharpies. The last pic is the ones I used to bring the metal munchers to life. Deffinently plan on getting more sooner or later.

You my friend win 5 internets!
Tip: A coat of gloss might work in giving them the faint metallic sheen. WSF takes gloss pretty well too.

Be careful for your workbench. You might find nothing left in the morn...

Edit: How are the mouth hinges working out for you?

The mouth hinges work decent enough. The holes are a bit small but they work. As for gloss, what you recomend ussing on them? Ive tried different clearcoats and they just screw everything up.

    What type did you use?
I used Future Perfect and that worked out fine so far over Testors enamel and Gunze lacquers.
