    No responses yet? Ok...

Scramble City is like the "lost episode" of Transformers. It takes place BEFORE the movie and features Ultra Magnus, Metroplex, Trypticon, and a host of the gestalts.

I BELIEVE it's available as an extra on the Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory DVD boxset that is available in the UK, as well as the post Victory episode "Microzone". But I'll have to double check that (anyone?) Could swear it was on there, though.

Also if you check out TFcog.net, there's a very good fan dub of it with some additional footage spliced in to make it feel like an entire episode.

Isn't it also on the latest Animated Transformers Movie DVD but with commentary over the voice track?

    Officially?

The only official R1 release of "Scramble City" was on Sony's 20th Anniversary Transformers the Movie DVD. However, they were unable to secure the audio rights to the film, so all you get is the animation and a "commentary track" which features two nerds arguing with each other.

A proper subtitled version of Scramble City was made available by Metrodome in R2 format for their Ultimate Edition Transformers the Movie DVD. The subs are non-removable and the video transfer is very poor. It has an optional audio commentary track by Chris McFeely, though, which is much less annoying than the one on the Sony version.

It's also available on Pioneer's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers Box 2 DVD set, though the video transfer is absolutely abysmal.

    Unofficially?

The thing has been available on the net forever. Fansubbed and fandubbed. I think it may even be on You Tube.

As for the toy version of Scramble City, I dunno where you can find it. I got mine on a bootleg tape many, MANY years ago. I'm certain it isn't on DVD.

THAT might actually be what I was thinking of... I know I saw it recently on a DVD but wasn't sure which one. It's an extra on SOMETHING recent, I know that much. :)

Scamble city is on all 3 versions of the movie released recently

region 1 usa: Gd picture, no episode audio, no subs, commentary only
region 2 uk: Green tinted picture, jap audio, english subs(from Bootleg)
region 4 aus: same as uk but has correct picture colours

    other releases
Bootleg DVD with TF zone subbed in english
FSRL Transformers box 2(see drspengler's post for info)

As others have mentioned there are places online with online fan dubbed versions which are not too bad.

also as far as i know seibertron.com has a low quality copy of the toy version on its site

Staff here at TFW2005 still have contact with Transformer/Hasbro officials? I thought all that ended with Orson leaving.

Gosh, what is my average post count per day LOL?

Did he ever REALLY leave? ;)

But seriously there's still Kickback with his super-awesome inside contacts (which still tell him BS on occasion), plus Bob Orci is posting here, plus...

Plus you don't need to be in touch with HASBRO if you're included on an officially licensed third party DVD release...

What do the official staff have to say about reissuing the Sunbow library again? I e-mailed Hasbro and... nevermind.

If I ever open a restaurant serving mostly eggs, I'm going to call it scramble city.

My two cents. I saw this on the latest North American 1986 movie DVD release.

And probably would readily identify themselves as either 'nerds' or 'geeks'. Hardly offensive terms round here... ;)

Yeah, it's on the 20th anniversary edition of the 1986 movie. Unfortunately, the episode is shown with commentary.

I'd be happy to get the chance to actually watch this episode without any commentary, but since it's in Japanese, it'll have to be subtitled. I don't do fan-dubs or anything of that sorts.
