Awesome little scout design. A pity the plastic they went with looks kinda cheap, and yet another crookedly applied rubsign doesn't help things. They did an excellent job designing it, but they kinda let it down in the execution. Oh well, still good.
The larger figures (like Turbo Tracks & Grapple for example) have been shown to have the ones without the border. Windcharger is the only one we've seen so far that has a border on his. Randy
Aside from the ubiquitous dishwater-grey plastic, he looks excellent. The design is improved and matured from his G1 version, while still retaining the design cues that make him Windcharger. It's a great update for a character I honestly never thought would get updated. I'm with Bass XO, Rook and Tailgate repaints would be great.
Another great figure, for the most part. I'm guessing there must be something about that light grey plastic that makes it cheaper to produce, because I can't think of another reason why they would be using it. Remember ROTF Scattorshot? That figure went from "meh" to "great" just by using a darker shade of the grey. That light grey stuff just doesn't show off any detail, and IMO doesn't resemble anything close to bare metal, if that's what they're going for. Not diggin' the rubsign either, but wutchagunnadoo?
That made me wonder if it was an "addition" by the owner, but it looks too small to be a Reprolabels one.
Would've preferred a robot mode without the car front as his chest, but now I'm just being picky. The head scuplt is genius and looks 100% like a modern rendition of G1 Windcharger should. Car mode is superb! Hopefully this won't be the last of the G1 inspired scout figures as part of the RTS+ lines in the future. And one thing you can bet your house on is that this guy will be repainted. If we got Tailgate that would be fantastic, especially with a new headsculpt.
Windcharger! Lookin' good. A definite buy. That would be nice. And although they've had a Legends release not that long ago, I'd like to see Cosmos or Warpath get a Scout class.
That's what I thought. Maybe KOToys just got a figure without the rubsign at all and slapped a classic on on there for the photoshoot. Don't ask me why I'm so curious about a sticker. XD
Beautiful... he will fit perfectly to scale with my Botcon Huffer and G1 Pretender Classics Bumblebee. Hopefully, this will continue with more scout class 'classic' figures like Gears, Crawn, Cliffjumper, Warpath, and Cosmos. Legends versions are just too small IMO...
I really do love this Reveal the Shield campaign. "Oh, I wonder what faction the red blocky-looking car belongs to?" Going to be buying a lot of Reprolabels this coming year.
This looks like it could easily be one of the best Scout-size Transformers ever. He's an excellent homage and looks to be a great toy. I really like the guns that rotate out on either arm; we haven't gotten stuff like that with most of the recent Scouts. Hopefully we get more like this!
