River City Ransom (From the Nes days). So Streets of Rage with leveling, shopping, and the ability to pick up and throw shit, including the enemies. You learn new moves as you level. 4 player coop with different characters and the ability to unlock some. Very Retro visual style, but with very good animation. Those games are just to level your character right? They aren't mini games? Yeah, it does seem like the music becomes less retro-sounding as the level progresses.
hehehe Deformed Characters: Check Character Leveling: Check Object Throwing (including other characters): Check Shops (Including Sushi shops): Check Coop (4 player): Check Things that RCR doesn't have, and this improves upon Overworld Map (for replaying old levels) the ability to SAVE!!! I don't really remember RCR's music, but this music is worthy of soundtrack purchase. I haven't gotten far enough to see if this game has multiple paths (because RCR does), but if it doesn't, that would be one attribute that RCR has over this.
Played through the demo. Once I have $10 to spare, this game will be bought. Did anyone check out the "pitch" trailer that was used to lure Ubisoft into publishing the game? It's just as awesome looking as the finished game, but featured many more classic game tie-ins. YouTube - Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game pixelated pitch video‎
For those that like the music, check out Anamanaguchi, they did the music for the game. They do chiptunes music and have at least one CD out that I know of. Saw them live at PAX East and they were awesome.
Tried the demo, got to the first evil ex but his stupid goth angels killed me while I had him flashing close to death (I think). Not sure if I want to spend for a whole game like this though. Was pissed I had to start over from the very beginning of the level after dieing at the boss and continuing.
I dunno that you had to start from the very beginning. You could have gone back to the map, and selected the market districts and started from there. Sometimes, just to kill time or to earn a little exp, I'll start that level from there and work my way to the boss.
Played the demo about 6 times now. Gotta say Stills is probably my favorite character of the initial 4, with Scott coming in second. I just love using him for some reason. And the music has yet to becoming tiresome.
I keep checking itunes to see if they update with the soundtrack. Some of their other work has been up there for a while. Took a break from the ol' Madden to try this, eh
Not yet, I've watched some vids. I like the graphics, the characters just seem out there lol. I may see if the wife wants to play later this week. I'm hooked on Madden lol.

I don't know if I'll get this, I've been playing the demo and haven't even been able to beat the first ex on easy XD
