Allright, now I'm not sure if I'm just crazy, but in the trailer when Scorponok jumps at the soldiers running in slo-mo, he's gigantic, looks like he could crush a Hummer. However, when it slithers in and out of the sand, he looks the size of a really big dog, or a really small horse (or perhaps a medium sized pony). Am I crazy?

My one theory is that he might change size somehow. I mean that Blackout figure comes with a very small Scorponok, and yet they made it so ol' Scorpy (the Deluxe one) can attach to the bottum of Blackout

    Your thoughts?

Sorry if this was discussed before

Nah. Probably just a weird perspective going on with the camera. The movie people already said they were trying not to use mass-shifting...

He's big enough to shrug off missle that puts him at a little over the size of an SUV.

It's the different persectives that the camera is coming from.

From the scene I saw with him it looked like he was maybe 10 feet from head to the base of his tail, maybe 4-5 feet from feet to back. And yeah its just the camera angle that makes him look bigger.

He's about the size of an SUV. Roughly.

Why does he look so big when he shoots out of the sand? Two things. The height of his jump and his angle.

Compared to Blackout (who is Huge) Scorponok is kind of small. Compared to humans he's probably huge. For anyone who's curious, I think he's actually based on prehistoric scorpions, which were water based and Really Big. That might explain his size.

yep scorpions are one of the oldest creatures on the planet and have barely changed in that time, they were around in their current form before even fish came along, cool eh

Uhhh...don't the transformers have to scan something in order to resemble it? Unless you're suggesting that Scorponok's been on Earth for 300 million years, he's probably the size that he is because it's similar to his protoform or Cybertronian size. Besides, those big water scorpions looked more like shrimp or horseshoe crabs than the land scorpions of today (didn't curl their tails over their backs), and they weren't nearly the size of an SUV.

I think, while he scan's a Scorpion, he also keeps his size and mechanical look to him. It's doubtfull, but, he could of also of scanned a top secret mechanical scorpion of the Military's (though why they would have one, I have no clue).

This gives me some funny ideas involving my Deluxe Movie Scorp, a air compressor with a long tube, and the local park's sandbox.

It may actually be the way he looked on Cybertron too. The other Transformers are humanoid in appearance, so it's not too big a stretch of the imagination that certain characters may have a resemblance to other creatures from Earth. Maybe Cybertron has problem with creepy crawlies like this.
