Anyone seen this yet? Art director is Derrick J Wyatt, so of course, I had to tune in. ;)  But I'm surprised actually how good it is, it's like Scooby-Doo got the TFA treatment. Homages all over the place, great writing, plus it's actually pretty damn funny. Definitely going to be tuning in from now on.

When & where is it on? I knew DJW was working on a Scooby Doo cartoon, but had no idea when it would be ready.

I remember seeing commercials for a new Scooby-Doo show on Cartoon Network for their Monday night shows, I'd check CN's show schedule.

I didn't know Wyatt was working on this. I'm definitely going to have to try and catch one sometime.

Saw the pilot on cartoon network. Not a bad start. Neat that it's got running storyline and not single episode plots. It was kind of creepy also. The show takes place between of scooby-doo were are you and the new scooby movies.

Shaggy dating velma surprised me. Someone on another board pointed out that they dated in the early episodes but was dropped so this takes place around that time. The van ghoul and don knotts cameos were great and so was having casey kasen return as shaggys dad. (he did his dad on a pup named scooby doo also.)

Cartoon Network showed a preview on Monday, April 5th. The new series will air sometime summer 2010, and possibly July according to two sources I've been in contact with.

Some other TFA VAs are involved: David Kaye, Cree Summer and of course the legendary Frank Welker from G1.

If anyone's interested, I have photos on my blog from a recent recording session of the new Scooby series, courtesy of David Kaye. The link's in my sig line below.

I'm very excited. It looks like it pokes some good natured fun at the series past while holding true to the spirit of the series.

I love that they actually show the group's parents as well as their social status. That can really add to the characters and give them more depth.
I love that Velma is dating Shaggy. I'll be honest, I've always thought Velma was hot (way more so than Daphne) and she's cute as hell in this. Love the bows.
I love that Daphne is horribly infatuated with Fred and that he's oblivious.

But, what I love most of all is that Fred is Rube frikken Goldberg with his traps. That just makes me laugh.

Overall, you can't say too much after just one episode (especially the pilot) but if the series keeps up what we've been shown, this is going to be an absolutely fantastic trip.

I'm kinda partial to the classic Scooby Doo cartoon, never really liked the What's New Scooby Doo cartoon.

But I'll check out this new Scooby Doo cartoon and see what it's like.
