hey, heres kind of a scary thought-what if, in the sequel, Decepticons win? i mean, since they lost last time, they need to redeem themselves in the sequel. what would happen if Bay and the writers decide to go in that direction, to make the victory in the third film even more BAM and spectacular? then we would have more favorite Transformer deaths, and some sort of supreme villian taking them down. what would fan reaction be? i mean, the Autobots cant always win, but id be devastated to see them lose, especially if more die...
Then Transformers would become Star Wars, like in the Empire Strikes back, before the good guys final victory in the third film. You know, the old tried and tested knock them down before building them back up.
Its certainly possible. Yet the Decepticons aren't known for winning and when they do, its very short-lived. Casualities are inevitable though, regardless of which side wins the battle. I believe that is what Jazz's death was meant to represent in the first film. So I fully expect to see more on both sides as the franchise continues.
I was expecting the Decepticons to win this time and turn earth into a complete war zone. I could picture the Decepticons drones walking thru citys with human skulls and autobots remains littering the streets.
Once again, according to the "leaked treatment" we saw a few months back, *Potential Spoilers!* (Highlight to read) Potential SPOILERS Begin->>> *Fast forward through all the build-up and to the big final battle* The Decepticons, under the command of a revived Megatron & the one who revived him, Soundwave, win the 3-way battle in Las Vegas between 1. Megatron & Soundwave's army, 2. Starscream & his forces, and 3. the outnumbered Autobots led under Prime and Ultra Magnus. Megatron was revived by Soundwave using sound waves to fluctuate the remaining energy through Megatron's body, keeping him alive on life-support. Megatron must be near Soundwave in order to still function. Also during this time, Barricade and Skorponok are blown up to bits by Starscream's missiles. Poor Mikela (Sams' girlfriend) is caught in the explosion and THOUGHT to be dead. She however is not, and completely unharmed, but stranded on top of a Las Vegas skyscraper. Meanwhile, Megatron's Decepticons win the battle, however, the war is still ongoing. During this time, Megatron PERSONALLY crucifies starscream onto a building and rips out his internals, killing him. Starscream, in his last bit of breath tells Megatron that he has "opened the way" for more transformers to arrive on earth, presumably with more Pro-Starscream/Anti-Megatron Decepticons that want Megatron dead. As for the Autobots, Ultra Magnus & co. destroy a combined Devastator early on in the battle. While fighting, and right before he delivers a death-blow to a weakened Megatron, Prime is distracted once again by HOTROD! (see the 1986 movie) This gives Megatron time to unleash a devastating attack upon Optimus Prime, gravely wounding the heroic Autobot Leader. (see the 1986 movie once again) In a feat of triumph, Megatron then literally RIPS THE MATRIX (of leadership) out of Prime's chest, and places it into the huge gap that was once Megatron's own chest which was destroyed earlier by the Allspark (TF #1). By housing the Matrix of leadership, this now gives Megatron a fully healed body, and also grants him superior strength & energy that he never had. Now he no longer needs to rely on Soundwave to keep him alive and can live independently. Back to the Autobots. Prime, not dead nor near death, but very, very badly injured...ALL THANKS AGAIN TO THAT IMPATIENTLY-STUPID HOTROD! is being carried away from the battlefield on the back on Ultra Magnus's flatbed trailer, and escorted by the remaining Autobots as they all retreat. Sam, riding on the flatbed with Prime, curses poor Optimus as he believes Prime to be responsible for Mikela's "death" (but she is still alive and well, the Heroes just don't know it). While retreating from Las Vegas, Hotrod gets a wrath of shit from Ultra Magnus and seeing that all this is really his fault (not Prime's), Hotrod decides to right his wrongs, turns around and heads back to the city of Las Vegas, hoping to stop the Decepticons and find the stranded Mikela. THE END. <<<-Potential SPOILERS End.
Well, we could do without the riffs of the Animated Movie, and the less "Megatron empowered by the magic whats-it" the better. Personally, I'd end it with, the Autobots JUST barely winning, Prime standing on a pier, making a speech, and then SPLOOSH out of the sea flys Big Megs, he transforms, blasts Prime so hard he flies into the sea and sinks motionlessly to the sea floor. Megatron then turns to the bashed Autobots and says "Time to Die"....
Weird. I have the treatment right here and there's no Megatron/Prime fight in it at all. It's Soundwave who takes the Matrix from Prime after knocking him and Starscream's faction down with a sonic pulse. He then gives it to Megs who uses it to get back on his feet and then gut Starscream. EDIT - Yeah I know the "spoiler" text shows up in the quote. If a mod wants to change it go ahead but it's not really worth it since that treatment probably won't even be used.
Well, that's my bad, as I went by an abridged version from when the treatment story was first posted on here. No way I had time to waste reading the entire thing, let alone picture the dialog to understand what was going on at the time. Limited free time FTL. At least I had most of it right.
The trilogy formula is introduction in the first one, the crap hits the fan in the second, and the third one is the battle to end it wall with the good guys winning. The Autobots getting the boots put to them in the second one would just be following the formula.
The Autobots win and the Decepticons retreat but the damage done to Earth was unprecedented, leading the Autobots to resorting to mount an attack on Cybertron to regain their homeland and to bring the war off Earth. The UN promises to aid them in the cause and build Autobot City. Brain fart.
We'll just have to see. I kind of like the treatment because it has a huge epic battle that's gonna keep going on into the 3rd. It's keeps all the cool characters alive, and has no clear winner. But you know only time will tell what really happens. I think if they had any sense at all they'll go with the whole SW, POTC, LOTR thing where in the 2nd movie they have the good guys against the ropes. You know they've fought a big battle and pushed the enemy back a bit to get some breathing room, but the future isn't crystal clear and there is no knowing who the winner will be. That'd be a good 2nd movie.
I didn't add the spoilers to the quote intentionally, but that would be epic! I would love to see that in the second movie. Making the movie awesome.
