Ill admit i stole this from another toy website, but it was a fun thread to read.

What still scares you? Me? not much, I grew up on Night of the Living Dead, Alien, Predator, stuff like that. Event Horizon is tough to watch as well as the Descent. Any suggestions?

I don't find any of them frightening, some can get a little creepy, The Exorcist you know, but nothing that really freaks me out. Most horror movies just make me laugh my ass off.

The last movie that actually scared me was The Sixth Sense, the part with the ghost of that girl in the tent. Other than that, i was raised on horror movies, and don't scare easy at all.

I remember before I ever saw the Exorcist how I kept hearing how it was what a lot of people considered the scariest movie ever. When I watched it I laughed my ass off. Funny movie.

Scary movies as such don't bother me. But certain things done to people in them do... whether they're scary movies or not. For one, I don't like people's eyes being popped/smushed/etc... that always freaks me out.

The only "scary" movie that ever creeped me out or made me scared was The Grudge. The part where the chick's under the covers...that is supposed to be a safe place.

Same here. As long it doesn't involve the eyes I can watch just about anything.

The problem with movies nowadays is that they very rarely look for the fear, but rather would bring the gross/shocking/disturbing.

A perfect example of this would be the Saw movies. I've only seen the first two, but I know that after I finished the second one, I felt like I needed to shower and then go to confession. And I'm not even Catholic. It was just so wrong. Not scary, just messed up.

Event Horizon scared me. Most stuff in horror movies, I feel like I could deal with (any human threat) or is just so completely impossible to cope with, fear would be pointless (most J-horror).

But Event Horizon had a portal to hell on a spaceship next to Pluto. You can cope with that (by getting off the ship) if you have the right skill set (which I don't). For some reason, that was always really terrifying to me, dying because I simply didn't have what it takes.

Check out The Descent. No cheap scares, and does a great job going for actual fear, as well as being pretty original.

The movie that still gets me is Alien. I saw that movie when it first hit the theater in 1979. I am now 31 so can you guess why it scared me so bad? All I can say is "Thanks mom." She said she didn't realize it was going to be so scary. I asked her, with a tagline that says "In space no one can hear you scream" you were expecting a comedy?
