Your first statement is correct. DOTM is going to be sitting on shelves in 2020.

I would disagree with your second statement about 2007 being a fluke. Similar to 2007, Hasbro/retailers was unable to predict the popularity of the Gen/RTS line due to all the fans brought in from the movie. In the same way Japan underproduced United because they do not care or were unable to predict the globabl demand for United.

 

The scalpers are going straight for Shockwave as we speak.

 

powerglides are no where to found unless the the skid has just been placed. found another skid at different WM.this time 7.

I have seen shockwaves EVERYWHERE I go, and in quite a few place of my hunt.
I have seen Topspin way more than that.
I have seen Cyberverse Blackout and powerglide in abundance at Walmarts.

Don't make such preemptive so early =)

My prediction for scalpers for DotM:

People will fallaciously blame shortages of popular figures on scalpers, when in fact the popularity and general demand of the figure, poor distribution, and the tendency for many Transformers fans to buy at least two of the figures they like (one for play, one for MISB), will far outstrip any dent in the supply scalpers could possibly make.

I also predict that because of this demand, scalpers will allow the people who can't afford to go hunting for figures every day to own figures that would otherwise be gobbled up by the surrounding population. Instead of spending the money on gas to MAYBE find the figure, some select people will spend the money on a mark up they believe is fair for how rare the figure is to DEFINITELY get the figure.

I also predict that someone will admonish such people for spending so much money on figures, despite that the person doing the admonishing has a decent chance to have spent as much money on gas without having found the figures he was looking for.

And finally, I predict that people will jump down my throat for saying these things, these things that are not politically correct ideas on a forum where people have decided that scalpers, people who're only trying to make a living, are worse than Osama Bin Laden and should be given all the blame for a problem way more complex than simply "some pathetic, horrible, evil losers are buying up all of MY toys!."

I'll bet money on my predictions, I believe in them. Ask me for lotto numbers, too, I'd like to see if I have an all around magic touch or if it is just in regards to things that can be logically thought through.

 

Skids, Mudflap, Bumblebee, Nitro Bumblebee; these are the things we all want the most. I sure as hell hope the scalpers don't get to them before I do!

 

 

Don't forget Voyager Prime and Leader Bumblebee too. They're selling like hotcakes on ebay!

Ah, I see. Well, I am still not gonna speculate just yet. Its too early. The movie hasn't even come out. Too early in a race to see who lags behind. Some toys starts out strong and end weak. Some are weak and then somehow get strong sales after. You never know.

 

Don't leave your horse with Powerglide. You can NOT trust that guy! He hates horses!

 

Optimus, Bumblebee & Powerglide are Autobots. If you can't find them that's because they are being bought up by kids.

Shockwave, Crankcase & Blackout are Decepticons so if you can't find them then that's because of scalpers.
